They were very nice ~ many kinds & think you pay for the time involved. Would love to squeeze in some time to make one!

Those are gorgeous....I have instructions on how to make those big leaf decorative/birdbath ones. You can use elephant ear leaves or rhubarb leaves. I'm sure you've seen them. It's just the planning ahead...gotta buy sand and quikcrete...procrastination rules the day here.

We made 10 rhubarb leaf stepping stones many years ago. I need to take a new pic, this is the only one I have. They've lasted really well even through our cold winters as we reinforced them with metal mesh.

They were actually very easy and fun to make. I also like the decorative ones that are shaped and painted but we've had lots of compliments on the plain flat useful ones we made.

Joy, these are amazing! Are they made with caladium leaves? And you can actually step on them? Cool! I see some hosta leaves in my future that might be giving up life as they know it to become molds for some of these!! Big Grin

Hazel, we used rhubarb leaves because they were the largest leaves in the garden. We have walked on them for years now. I'll try to remember to take another pic soon.

How thick did you make them so they don't crack?

I used to have the instructions that Iowa gave out years ago but I guess I deleted them from my favorites the last time I cleaned it out.
BUT, I went hunting on google and found this...

http://tipnut.com/concrete-leaves/

Just click on the one you want & step-by-step w/pics! I need to put that one on my favorites now!!!!!!!!!

I think I like the plain ones better than the painted ones.
