I would like to know if I need to put down stakes now for the 3 tomato plants I planted 2 weeks ago. I bought all of the "compact" variety for containers and/or decks so I wasn't sure if I should stake them now (or if they have to be staked at all) I see my neighbor just planted her tomatoes and they are all staked. (her aren't the 'compact' variety)
I thought she wasn't planting tomatoes this year cause she didn't plant any tomatoes yet and she usually plants them in May. I looked out my window yesterday and noticed tomatoes are now planted! (I can't believe I planted my first tomatoes ahead of her!!!!)

Wavie, you can put your stakes in & tie the maters to them as needed or just wait until they need staked...either way.
