marcydaisyI have a dry shade area--what will grow?
I've been gardening for years and I'm tired of impatients in the shade places--I have caladiums now but want a good flowering perennial that will do in dry shade.
What do you suggest?

16pawsI have a dry shaded area that is approximately 20 x 20--there are four large pin oaks at the perimeter. We have had the weak lower branches removed to allow more light into the area. The real problem here is the amount of water it takes to make anything grow in this area. I do have some bleeding heart, ferns and hostas in the area but I water constantly and the trees literally suck up all the water. We have brought in yards of top soil and amended it but it's the water that is the key to anything growing in the area. Good luck it's not easy.

WWandaAdd Coral Bell to the list. I've got them and I love them. Even when they're not flowering, they're still pretty and there's a lot of varieties now.
