Does anyone own a Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine? Thinking of purchasing the 4.5 cu ft ultra capacity plus washer (energy star). What do you like or dislike about it.

I am not in the market for a washing machine. But I have one piece of advise- Do not buy appliance made by Bosh. I had a washing machine. It was very noisy and the clothes did not get clean. I will never purchase anything made by them again. They have a great reputation which I feel is unwarranted.

Rascal, give me a couple days to check in with my neighbor. She has a whirlpool C-something that has been NOTHING but problems. I just can't remember if it is the Cabrio or the Calypso.

You know how some appliance companies will let you buy extended warranties a few months after purchase? This product is SO BAD that they won't offer that.

As soon as I can confirm which machine it is that she has, I'll let you know.

edit: Just looked at photos and epinions reviews. The one neighbor has is Calypso. Bad BAD news.

On epinions, the cabrio seems to have average reviews - but not a lot of them. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. At least you know to consider yourself warned against the Calypso.

My 2 cents....I have had my Bosch front loader for over a year and it is VERY quiet. My clothing is wonderfully clean and it is energy star with self heating unit built in. These are all made in the USA...North Carolina. Most other companies are all made in C h i n a....my sister had a Calypso and had many problems with odor due to the way it drained internally or something...
