My wife and I are building a new house and we need some help picking out our siding color. We are really wanting to find a blue siding color that we like. Our house is a craftsman style home and we can't decide on what shade of blue. If anyone reading this has a blue siding house or lives near one can you please email me a picture at blakecary@hotmail.com
We have to get the brick picked immediately so we are in a huge hurry. Thanks for the help. |

Blue homes sell last in my neck of the woods. If you have to have blue- I would make sure it has alot of gray in it.

If you want to go with the traditional craftsman bungalow colors this link shows the colors Craftsman Colors
I currently have a blue house and I hate it granted it's a nice blue (w/gray in it not baby blue thank G**) but I am envious of those in my neighborhood who have beige or tan homes I think they are so much prettier. I can't justify changing my siding right now though because it's only 2 years old and I have way too many other projects I want done first. |

So you have to pick the brick first and then you'll pick the siding color? What color brick will go with blue? I love the color selection that Beantown sent you though I would not recommend blue in any color for the siding. Since I am not all that familiar with siding, is it something that you can paint so if you don't like it you could just paint it a different color or are you faced with having to rip it down and replace it? Hmm, assuming you still want whatever shade of blue siding, how about a cream colored brick? That is neutral enough to mesh with any other color, I think. If you did those two, what color would you paint the trim? You will, of course, have to send us photos... |

If your budget allows and you are not too far into the process, can you ask your contractor about hardie board? It is a great siding material - and if you get tired of the blue, you can paint it after a few years.
Trying to find samples of siding colors on line is not as easy as going to a paint dealer website and looking at combinations of colors. But from what I saw - slate blue would be a good choice - a darker blue with lots of gray. Good luck |
