O gosh, you guys. I didn't know y'all were asking about me til I saw Charming over on the Decorating Boards. I don't know why I don't get the notifications when I get a response; I'm signed up for them. Unfortunately, I got so busy I forgot to check back with you guys. I forget where I post sometimes.

We had a GREAT time in Charleston/Savannah. Went with my sister and a good friend. We stayed at DoubleTree and it was the best location. Right across the street was the huge market.
Right from the airport we drove to Magnolia Plantation and took the tour. Amazing! Then we drove down to Folly Beach. Got "picked up" by 2 cute young boys the ages of my son. They wanted/needed sunblock (yeah, right) so they could stay out longer on the beach to pick up cute girls. One was realllly cute!!! We couldn't figure out their real motive. They probably thought we were rich and would treat them to dinner or something. One was from SC (Columbia?) and the other from Houston, TX.
Anyway, we took the free trolley around the historic area trying to find a place for dinner.
Can't remember where we ended up. But we hit Justine's for lunch one day.
The next day we took a private tour in Charleston and got to go in one of the Rainbow Row houses. Had BF (grits on slimy scrambled eggs - not good); took pics of the house, then she drove us around in her van and gave us great history on the area, stopping for pics, going in other mansions and private gardens. Was really nice. Ended up back at her home for a nice lunch of beef tenderloin, homemade wine and raspberry mousse for dessert.
We did Ft Sumter and then decided one day to do one of the walking tours in the AAA book. That was such a great idea. We even met some of the "locals" along the way. One of the owners of the houses was English and had 2 other summer/winter houses in the states. I'm sure he was quite "rich!" I wanted so badly to see his house.
We had dinner at the Riverfront Restaurant which was excellent. I had Stuffed Flounder, served whole, minus the head. Yummy!
On our way to Savannah, we stopped at the Tea Plantation and took the lil tour to see the tea plants. We also stopped to see the Angel Oak on Johns Island.
We spent only one night in Savannah, stayed at HI Express (great location). Walked around and then went to dinner at an Irish Pub in one of the squares, close to where we had to meet for our Martini Tour. OMG, that tour was wonderful! We had 2 other really nice ladies in our lil group. After the tour we decided to go to the top of one of the hotels (can't remember name) and have more drinks. Those martinis really weren't strong.
The next morning we went on one of the On/Off Tours in Savannah. Had lunch at the Pink House and it was EXCELLENT! It was hot, hot in Savannah. Nice in Charleston. They had a "cold" spell.
I LOVED Charleston and would love to go back!

I LOVE Charleston - it is a really neat little city. I worked in Savannah for a few months, that is also a nice city, but that was the first time I was ever anywhere that had alot of alligators. Every time it rained, little indentions would fill up with water, and I saw so many gators in those little "ponds"...... I'm glad you had a great time - hard not to in such charming towns....

What a wonderful trip. As usual, you went to all the places almost locals never get to see. I'm usually on my way to a meeting or a show when we go to Charleston and never get to the reaally cool places.

I forgot about the Pink House- I know locals in Savannah highly recommend it.

Now I have my list, DS is back in MB so we will have to do a road trip soon.
