I watch the show Hidden Potential and was just wondering how/where I would go about hiring a professional like that to help me find and modify an older/cheaper home to my liking. I checked to see if HGTV will be in my area and unfortunately they won't be....

I am also wondering what the ballpark cost would be or if these people work with the construction crews and it's built into the cost. I live in an area that is very expensive and consists of a lot of older homes. I want to buy an older home and change it to a modern interior with certain features/upgrades.

Any and all help is appreciated. Thank you in advance.

EDIT - I am located in Northern New Jersey (near NYC)
