Hi, I was just catching up on readings and saw your post about the apple pie squares. Would you please post this as I love apple pie but can't make a nice crust. Thanks so much I really appreciated it.

Sorry was on vacation and just back this week. I made them for our Open House before we left though and the realtor said there were only 2pieces left out of about 24 and she was taking those home. She said the men went back for 2nds and one guy she thinks had 3rds! The frosting is a bit sweet though so just letting you know that I'd maybe cut that back again when I make them next and I'd add more apples..

I used Red Delicious apples, it called for 3lbs and they came in a 3lb bag, so less guess work for me on how many to use!!

Not too crazy about the shortening in the pie crust...but, I will make my own using butter. The recipe sounds delicious...can't wait to try it. Thanks.

I've substitued butter in place of shortening many times, shouldn't affect the outcome!
I've got another Open House tonight and made Homemade German Chocolate cupcakes, and boy are they yummy! |
