A friend told me about this recipe: 1 lb white chocolate 3 c. rice krispies 1 c. Spanish nuts On the stovetop, melt the chocolate with the rice krispies. Add the nuts when the chocolate is melted and pour out onto a pan. Does anyone ever make this? I tried to find it online but most of the recipes called for other ingredients such as marshmallows, peanut butter, butter, etc. I'd hate to try making her version and then find out she forgot to mention an ingredient or two. She said it's delicious!

I've never heard of it. Seems to me that cooking the rice krispies in the same pan with the melting chocolate might make them lose their "crispiness"? You might want to call your friend back to verify that you copied down the recipe correctly. Let us know how they turn out!

It sounds like too much bark for only 4 cups of cereal and nuts. But I have had this as it seems to be the new rage this fall. Some of it had pretzel rods, M & M's and Chex cereal. You could coat anything you like with white bark.

I think the ratio is off, surely not 1 LB of chocolate. Use the regular recipe then quickly press half into a room temp. pan, embed 1/4 cup each rough chop nuts & choc chips before topping with the remaining marshmallow/rice followed by the remaining 1/4 nuts/choc OR, check Kellogg's website for exact measurements. If you need a "taster" I'm available

Someone in the courthouse did this with popcorn. I'd rather have rice krispies treats. (I think it depends on what you use as "white chocolate." Too many people buy candy coating...I just don't like the flavor.)This message has been edited. It's funny....I just got done making the following: 1 lb white chocolate 1 lb dry roasted or honey roasted peanuts 15 oz bag of pretzel sticks - broken up Melt chocolate, stir in nuts & pretzels. Spread out on waxed paper or alum foil - let set up - break into pieces. Yum!

Here's another variation that was on a cookie tray I received: Make the krispie treats as usual except use corn flakes, and dye the marshmellow green. Top with cinnimon red hot candy. Looks like a wreath. (somewhat!)
