I am looking for the above recipe using chili flakes it has to be the sweet and the oil recipe not the sauce. It is for a dip. Thanks unable to find one.
A little late but I found this one for you
Makes about 1 1/2 cups
Can be prepared in 45 or less.
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
2/3 cup rice or white-wine vinegar
4 large garlic cloves, minced
3/4 teaspoon dried hot red pepper flakes
3/4 teaspoon salt
In a small saucepan combine all ingredients and simmer, stirring occasionally, 10 minutes. Cool sauce to room temperature. Sauce may be made 3 days ahead and kept chilled, covered.
Serve sauce at room temperature.
