Ziplock bags
Bought several boxes of assorted sizes of the Ziplock bags. Opened up one box and it had a strong "oily" odor. I opened up all the boxes and they all had the same smell. Not sure if I want to use these or not, since the scent is so offensive. Has anyone had this problem?

I use Ziplock Bags all the time for all types of reasons - some for everyday items and others for refrigerated and frozen products - but have never noticed any smell from them and I can be pretty particular when it comes to scents....

I would take them back to the store and exchange them ~ see if the new ones have the same issue. Good luck. Cool

Were they real "Ziplock" bags or generic bags that zip? That could make a difference.

I use both the name brand and generic and I've never noticed a smell. I think I would take them back to the store and get my money back and then buy them someplace else. I think for some reason you have a bad "batch" and in all liklihood, ALL the the ones at your store are probably from the same batch and will smell.

Were they from a regular grocery or from a Dollar tree type place? Plastic will deteriorate over time.

These were Ziplock brand name. I toss them our and purchased some generic one's...and they're fine. I was afraid to use those others.

You're probably right about a bad batch...should have taken them back but I've already tossed them. Wished I had though...they're kind of pricey, especially since I had four boxes....oh well...
