mountainbeachGas grill
We have a gas grill and I've seen on tv cooking shows the host just brushes their grilling rack with a wire brush to remove old stuck on foods. Is this appropriate to do, or does it need washed in soapy water after every use? Thanks

DaisysMumDH is in charge of our gas grill and has never washed it, just uses a wire brush on it. I think it is easiest to clean it if it's been heated but I'm not positive.

LinderhofMy DH does the same -- be he uses the brush AFTER he takes off the food -- so the grill is still hot. I'm not sure if he does it before he puts the new food on as well but I've seen him do it after (for often I'm outside waiting for that steak to hit my plate -- before I'm fixing the sides!)

Florida Farm GirlI preheat the grill and then brush it before putting food on. DH takes the food off and brushes the rack before he turns it off. Same difference.

jackierenetteThis is the same way we do our grill. And our charcole grill too.We let the grill heat up I and burn off any little leftovers. The heat will k!ll off any germs, bacteria ect.I want the grill grid to be hot B4 I put on my meats. That keeps the meat from sticking.
