I do not care for mollusks -- oysters, clams, mussels, squid? and the like. I love shrimp and lobster, never had crayfish but imagine I would like them.
Just curious -- if you say you do not care for shellfish (other than allergies), does that include both mollusks and crustaceanss or are you 50/50 like me?

DaisysMumWell I don't think I would classify squid as a shellfish but that is just me. Other wise I love all others EXCEPT I do not like scallops, something about the texture. And maybe oysters are not the best thing ever. But love shrimp, crabs, etc. And clams are the best, both in soup and fried.

cocokI do not care for either mollusks or crustaceans, and I never have. One of my children has a serious allergy to both, and so that sealed the deal for me. No shellfish of any kind ever in the house for any reason. I do love fish though. Oh, and my reasons for not liking shellfish - texture and taste of the meat, and the buggish nature of the creature. Just kind of an all around turn off.

zone9aladyI love all seafood! Growing up in Louisiana it was on the menu at least once a week. Crawfish, crabs, shrimp and oysters...

mountainbeachI like some fish, snowcrab legs, shrimp is ok. I dislke all mollusks and lobster, it's the texture. The only seafood I make at home is salmon, and snowcrab legs. I've learned it's easier to just go out to eat seafood, because it never tastes as good when I make it at home.

Kathy_in_wlsvI LOVE squid, clams, oysters, lobster.. But I'm deathly alergic to real crab. figure that one out.
I dont particularly care for fish especially Salmon, I can't see its popularity..
But shellfish/crustaceans/mollusks great.
In fact I have a nice box of squid in the freezer as I type.

thatchairladyAs a kid, didn't really like shrimp, but DAD did... so it was dinner on occasion. Luckily, my taste has changed and now I love it.
Like LITTLE steamed clams, swimming in butter. Have tried oysters "every which way but loose"... NOT happening!?! Not a texture thing... just not crazy about the flavor. Have tried them in oyster stew, even raw... NAH!

GraciepjI've eaten all of them, but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat any of them. I never cook them or order them at a restaurant.

sms29s66I can't imagine not loving shellfish, oysters, etc, but I have to admit that I was disappointed the few times I tried lobster. Maybe being from Louisiana has something to do with it. Crawfish are just SO much tastier!!!!
My daughter did her undergraduate work at Boston University, and the first time I visited her up there, I was puzzled by the crawfish logos I saw in bookstores, restaurants, etc. Thank goodness that I realized they were actually lobsters BEFORE I embarrassed myself. Talk about ice-cream-cone-forehead!!!!!!

Idaho ResidentWell, here is my story. I absolutely love lobster, but not so fond of the whole one if I have to dismantle it myself- I'm a bit squeamish when it comes to things I don't cook myself ~ just give me the tail, please, with lots of lemon butter and I am a VERY happy person!
I also love crab (specially dungeness crab - King Crab is okay as well although I recommend care when cutting the shell) but, no way, snow crab - our local catfish tastes better! And I love shrimp ~ made whatever way the chef can devise but the rest of the shellfish menu?
Nope ~ lobster, crab and shrimp, that's it. BUT I'm happy to cook all of them rest for my DH who loves them!

Florida Farm GirlNope, don't like any shellfish or mollusks or crustaceans. I'm not allergic that I know of, but just can't abide the taste or texture. I'll cook shrimp for DH occasionally, but I have something else. I do like white meated fish, though, like halibut, cod, grouper, etc.
