Hi All - I just got my e-invite to next months supper club. There are 6 couples, so each couple hosts a dinner twice a year. I just joined and I think it will be really fun.

Here are the "rules."

1) The hostess makes the entree and the other couples are assigned a dish, i.e. salad, veggie, dessert, etc.
2) The hostess also gets to choose the "theme" ingredient, but it has to be an ingredient that begins with the first letter of the hostess' last name, and cannot be repeated through the year. For example, next month is being hosted by the Sessams = Sour Cream.
3) The best part is you bring two of the same dish. One to eat for dinner that night, and one to be separated into six parts so each couple has another meal that they package up and take home for another night.

I just thought I would share. I have been
involved in other Supper Clubs, but this one sounds unique - plus I really like all the couples this time around. (yea, that helps) Big Grin

I only hope the Lindles ("L") do not choose "liver." I would hate to see what dessert was made with that. Eek

2SM, what a great idea and how fun to get together with friends, share a meal for now and again for later!! I'll have to try to do that too. Although we really don't have that many friends that we get together with like that..gee, that is pretty sad isn't it Frown

This sounds similar to our church's Dinner for Eight group. We have 80 plus members, each are asked to host twice a year. The host provides the main entre, and other guest assigned to come to their home is called 2 wks. in advanced, and given a choice of appetizers, dessert or salad to bring. The host tells her guest what specific meat she plans to serve so the guest can choose a suitable dish to compliment it. We do not make duplicates of food choices for anybody to take home. Three times a year, the host chosen has a large home that can accomodate between 60-70 guest. These 3 months, we stick to appetizers and desserts only and it is served buffet style, where the other months, it is sit-down dinners in the individual homes. It's a wonderful way to share fellowship and get to know more people in our large and active congregation.

If you were taking an appetizer that started with your surname initial, what would you choose? Mine would start with E..would deviled eggs count? Eggplant? Will have to think of something else.
