Anyone know what it's made of? Some gal named Kelly is doing a survey of Stately Sandwiches, and the MA sandwich is one that made her list.

Nevermind, I just googled it. It's white bread, marshmallow fluff, and peanut butter. I don't think it's going to become one of my favorites! LOL

Well, I don't know if it is exclusive to Mass. but around here it is two slices of bread ....one spread with peanut butter and the other with marshmallow cream, and then put together like a sandwich!

My first DH loved those things, but then he was from Massachusetts. Not my favorite, but give me a crunchy peanut butter and banana sandwich, and I'm fine.

They had them in Missouri as well -- white bread toasted on one side, spread with peanut butter, then the marshmallow fluff and put under the broiler again to brown the top of the fluff.

Haven't had one since I was a teen!

Don't knock um till you've tried one! Had them many times growing up but never thought of them exclusive to Mass. They definately have to be made on Wonder Bread using FLUFF marshmallow cream and smooth peanut butter.

Sorta, but not with that name.

In Indiana, fish sandwiches (and not the fish-wich from McD's), but with real, fresh catfish were a real treat. My neighbor from Kentucky had never heard of them!!!

I like the lobster roll (sandwich) in Maine...ohhhhhhh myyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!

I've heard of them before, but never had one.

CJO, we have a place here that serves REAL fish sandwiches: fried catfish fillets topped with a slice of cheese while hot and the cheese melts with tartar sauce smeared on a grilled bun. Very good!

Sherry, I have never tried catfish, but I'm not overly fond of cheese on fish. Even at a McD's I request no cheese. At a very popular local fish place in Louisville I was surprised they served the fish sandwiches, which were quite good, on white bread.

About the sandwich with fluff, I know a lot of people like it, but IMHO - YUCK! I don't like marshmallows unless they are melting in my hot chocolate. Looking at the jar of marshmallow fluff in my pantry makes my teeth hurt! I can't imagine willingly putting it on a sandwich.

This fluffernutter does sound good but sweet! I bet kids really like it...and depending on the layer of marshmallow cream - just a thin smear, I bet I would like it. Big Grin

Dad's favorite sandwich was white bread...peanut butter smeared on one slice, Miracle Whip on the other. Slap a piece of red rind bologna (remove the red rind of course but it had to be red rind or he would have something to say!) between the two and eat. Only one grandchild followed in his footsteps with this one. LOL
