They seem to be pretty handy for chopping and I've seen one with a double blade - I suppose that is for mincing...anyone use a mezzaluna?

I have a ulu. This pictures the set but I only have the 6" and the block to hold it. It slices, chops, and minces. You can see how to use it.

Thanks for the thread! I've known about them for ages and wanted one but never think about it when I'm in a kitchen store. It's going on the list! Not sure I want to pay $30 for one but I see Nigella's is only $16.

I have had the Ulu for quite a few years and I honestly use it all the time. It's one of my favorite kitchen things. Once you get used to using it, you will love it. They're very sharp, so be careful.
