Do any of you have or know someone who likes their upscale range? Thinking Viking, Wolf, Thermador, Aga, etc.

My problem is I HATE STAINLESS STEEL and must have all electric.

I have a pro Thermador and have had it since 2003. It is stainless and all gas. I love it and can't imagine cooking on anything else.

I'm not sure if pro ranges come in anything but stainless but I could be wrong.

One thing from my bucket list that will never be realized is owning an aga.

I don't even have gas to cook with! Do not like my electric stove top, but DH won't allow gas in the house!

Maybe it's my age, but, when we replaced our wall oven and cooktop last year...really looked at all the options. All I know is, I did not want convection (don't want to convert all my recipes and learn all over) and although I did own a double oven many (40) years ago...then, the second oven was on top...the ones I found were on the bottom...with knee problems...neither one of us wanted to get down on hands-and-knees to see and use the bottom oven so that was out. Although I've oohed and ahhed at the aga's etc., I think it might be a whole new way of cooking too and don't want to start that either. Only real upgrade was I finally have a flat ceramic cooktop which is so much preferable to the rings I had for years.

I could never justify the cost of a high-end range, especially when I mainly cook cheap soup or mac/cheese; LOL!

I have a large island and I have a Wolf cooktop with a downdraft--I would have loved a hood but there's no room above. I looked at all three brands. The local Viking store, which has now closed was of no help. The appliance store selling Thermador was ok but I didn't like the reviews that I saw online. The local Wolf/Sub Zero distributor has a fabulous showroom and had lots of ideas. I wanted a large burner for soups, clam bakes, etc. I had a triple bay JennAir before but you had to use the old fashioned rings for the big burner. The bays were hard to clean. We installed gas and bought the Wolf cooktop and a double oven. I don't know your exact needs, but it pays to go somewhere you can see the models. Also take along pots, frying pans, etc and see if they all fit. So many cooktops have burners that are close together, even if the burners are okay, you can't always use them at the same time. I really like cooking with gas and the cleanup is quite easy, even though we are messy cooks. They have electric and gas cooktops. I really like the stainless steel, it's easy to clean, maybe you should rethink that? Just a suggestion.

My dream would be to have a dual fuel stove -- gas cooktop and electric oven. That's not gonna happen, though, cause my house is all electric, unfortunately.

I think GE has an upscale line of electric ranges. I haven't looked at appliances in many years, so I don't even know what's out there now.

As gorgeous as they are, I wouldn't want to invest in an Aga or La Cornue range. In my case, it would be overkill.

My Bosch gas cooktop is just perfect for me. And, I have a GE Profile electric wall oven, so I am good to go.

If I ever find myself living in a home without gas, I will install an induction cooktop.

I've done my research and shopping but was curious if anyone has personal experience with any of these brands. Bosch had poor reviews.
I see Aga is out of my budget!
Some of the others are only available in gas stovetop and I need electric. Still others come only in stainless steel.
After a couple trips to a dealer showroom I have found a Viking to suit me.

Anyone have experience with Viking?

los, I finally talked myself out of lusting for a cobalt blue Aga by reminding myself at every turn that the model I would insist on because of the multiple ovens is 36" when my kitchen is more suited to a 30" and (the real deal killer) they do not have self-cleaning ovens. I don't know about you, but this 63-year-old back and these knees are beyond the days of cleaning ovens "by hand"!!!!

I talked myself out of the Aga because it was larger than the kitchen. We'd have an Aga and nothing else in there!!! LOL!!

DH tried very hard to rent a cottage when we lived in England last spring with an Aga! He knew I would have loved it so! Alas, not to be!

There is just something about them!

Sigh . . . but I do adore my Thermadore Pro gas stove.
