Our Youth Fair was this week and I was asked to give a program on edible flowers. Besides the talk, the club that asked me made cupcakes which we topped with candied flowers that I had done earlier in the year and then I made for participants some edible flower sandwiches. Party rye bread spread with cream cheese with herbs and then topped with herbs and herbal flowers (all that was blooming in my garden during this drought!)

very pretty and looks tasty...i love chive flowers in a salad...and nasturium (sp)? leaves/flowers are nice and peppery...basil flowers dress up a platter of tomatoes and cheese nicely.
