Our grocery store had lobster on sale for 5.99 a lb so I bought 2 lobsters and had the store cook them. Took them home and stuck them in the refrigerator. Next morning I picked the lobsters and this is the last time I will ever do that. Not any fun when you have arthritis and they are very hard shelled.
Well anyway job done and I cut up the meat from one lobster to have for dinner that night (other went into freezer)
It was so delicious! I served it over pasta. First melted some butter (in the morning) and tossed in some of the shells to make butter pinkish. Took shells to dump
At dinner time I added some more butter, a glove of garlic diced, some chicken broth. Had I had a bottle of white wine opened I would have added that.
That was one delicious meal. Had never eaten lobster that way before and would really recommend it.
The Edy's vanilla bean ice cream with fresh strawberries and mint hot fudge sauce later wasn't too bad either!
Well, I'm jealous!
Does this hat make my butt look big?
Sounds like a celebration!! Glad you enjoyed it! I love Lobster any way it's prepared... except Thermador, but that's just me!
I'm jealous, too! LOVE lobster -- they're just not that plentiful on the prairie (LOL!)

We became very fond of lobster when stationed in New Hampshire. I have lobster envy!
This is what I read in Joy of Cooking about lobster (probably wouldn't be PC today but anyway. . . )
A little cannibal kid and his mother were walking through the jungle when a plane flew by overhead. He was frightened and asked what that was. His mother said it was an airplane and that it was like a lobster, hard to get open and you had to throw most of it away, but the insiders were delicious!
