I'm in SW Connecticut and we have about a foot of snow already and expecting it to snow all night. Needless to say we will be snowed in for at least the weekend. Today I made two pans of eqqplant parm. As long as I have electricity & the ingredients in the pantry I guess I'll do some cooking! So if you're snowed in what will you be cooking and how do you entertain yourself?

Thanks Sherry, We're warm and safe as long as we don't lose our power. Woke up to over 2ft. of snow and high winds. Texas sounds wonderful right about now!

Only 3-4 inches in my part of NJ, but snowed OUT of car... sorta?? Couldnn't get into driver's side doors?? Was able to open passenger side (in sun) and after 15-20 minutes of warm-up... good to go an have stuff blow off top of car.

Well the official numbers are in and we got 3ft. DH and I shoveled for about 4 hrs. and only made it to the end of the drive. Plow went down the middle of the street once. Will be out all day tomorrow trying to get in the van and to shovel to the middle of the street. There's no place to put the stuff! Will have a nice crock pot potroast cooking while I'm shoveling though.

Our dumping snow from last week is about all melted and re-iced up today. I don't think the schools got in one full day of classes last week at all. Since Sunday we had snow, then winds, then subzero temps and finally rain is coming later tonight, freezing tomorrow. It's been a few years since we've had one of those "no place to go with it" snows. A child's snowday play heaven.

I'm just gratefull that it was a very light fluffy snow and not at all heavy or icy. East to shovel, but just way too much! I'm only 5' so it was hard to throw!

Jo-CT - Please know that we in other parts of the nation are thinking of you and those affected by this huge storm.

I agree with Lurah. All of us are thinking about you and hope that the situation is resolved soon. Be careful out shoveling ~ way too many heart attacks happen during that activity ~ so please don't over-exert yourselves! It will melt eventually even though it is causing so many problems right now. Stay safe, stay warm.
