Does anyone know of a smaller countertop microwave that has no beep or at least one that isn’t too loud and ear piercing? My husband and I have never been fond of the sounds, but can put up with it. Unfortunately, our little dog has develop a “noise phobia” to all sounds that are high frequency. And, while we are working with her to help her overcome them, I’m still hoping to find a quieter microwave. I’ve called some of the manufactures but have no luck there. Know some used to make microwaves that could be silenced. I am now told that “they no longer do this for MY safety”. Samsung does allow silencing but only to their larger models. Thanks, Liz

What is your idea of smaller; compact only, or is mid-sized okay? I have a Kenmore mid-sized counter top model that I can turn the beep off. Did you ask any of the manufacturers if they sell microwave ovens where you can control the volume of the beep? I know they sell microwaves that allow you to do that but I don't know off hand the brands and model numbers.

In answer to size the smaller the better. We use it to heat water, occasionally food on plates. Maybe some popcorn. But, at this point, I'd take something a little larger. I was told by the manufactures I called that until you get into the larger models volume can't be adjusted. But, I'll do some more research with Kenmore models. Thanks

This is the one I have, Kenmore TrueCookPlus 1.2 cu. ft. Countertop Microwave Oven SearsItem# 02066339000 | Model# 66339 It only comes in black though. To turn off the beep you press the "option" key. The sound off and on is the first thing you will see after pressing the option button. I remember some of the other manufacturers put sound off option under the clock button, which defies logic as far as I'm concerned. As long as it's easy to make the beep stop who cares, right? Anyway, here is the link to Sear's site with the model I have. You'll see a "chat live" and "click to call" under Support & Price Matching if you want to talk with them now. http://www.sears.com/kenmore-t...ockNo=1&blockType=G1 ETA - I forgot to tell you mine is a mid-size microwave. These are the dimensions: Dimensions: Depth (In.): 17.12 Height (In.): 12.5 Interior Capacity: 1.2 cu. ft. Interior Dimensions (HxWxD): 14-11/16"W x 9-5/8"H x 15-5/8"D Weight (lbs.): 31 Width (in.): 21.87This message has been edited. Last edited by: still tryin,

Thanks. I'll take a look. Was hoping for something a little smaller, but for the little dog that owns our hearts, I can live with larger..
