Why did people waste their time on decorating cup cakes? However there are many beautiful cup cakes are available in market. Why do not paint a picture of it?

I'm not sure what your question means. Can you clarify?

As for why people "waste their time on decorating cupcakes", I venture to guess it's because they find it fun and rewarding. These decorations are purely to inspire those who entertain and like to make a memorable presentation to their guests. Taking the time to decorate each cupcake in such an over-the-top manner suggests to me that the baker/hostess did so w/ love and the guests should feel special as a result. Of course, we all don't have the time to decorate in this manner, but some of us may like to try our hand at whimsical decorations of our own designs.

Cupcakes and pop cakes are the current rage. This is why decorating either is in the forefront now. Individual servings are also thee thing for taste parties. This doesn't mean we have to follow the trend, but it's always fun, I find, to see what's new in entertaining. Lastly, as for cupcakes on the market, I am a from scratch baker. That's my personal preference.

Ditto the bought cakes. I don't normally get a slice of cake at parties or gatherings...steering clear of store bought and cake mixes. At times I've been tempted when I hear, "Isn't this cake so good?!" So, I get a slice out of the middle with a little of the greasy 'butter'cream icing. Rake the icing off, taste the cake, then 99 times out of 100 I'm looking for the closest trash can.

ONE of those cupcakes looked fairly quick...blue icing...colored Goldfish...white dots for bubbles. That one I might think about doing. Wink

Oh, Sherry, I thought I was the only dessert "snob." LOL LOL I am the only person who turns desserts down if they're not homemade. If I'm going to add unneeded calories, I prefer that they were from something made from scratch. It isn't always easy to determine if something is homemade from scratch, a mix, or store-bought.

I agree re. homemade vs. bought or from the box (as I previously stated) and also considering the calories in determining whether to indulge or not. In fact, during a recent event involving lots of food, I asked a slim covolunteer to taste test the goodies figuring she had a great metabolism and she could afford the calories. She gladly complied and steered me and another
volunteer to the desserts worthy of the
calories. Big Grin
