My dh bought yams today, and I want to do them for Thanksgiving on MON. (Canada) Any recipies. I don't want a lot of sugar. HELP!!! thanks

We like to just bake them. But years ago, I would peel them, cut them in big chunks and boil them. When done, I would drain add butter and cinnamon. No sugar. We thought they were yummy! Martha

You can do sweet and buttery casseroles or plainer as Martha suggested. Another plain way that I really like is oven roasted "fries." Peel. Cut however you desire - larger chunks take longer to cook. You can chunk them, quarter, eighth, cut into "fries," etc. Toss with olive oil. I like to lightly sprinkle them with Kosher salt. Bake until done or even more until crispy fries. Love yams, steam them and then peel and serve with butter or for our Thanksgiving I cut them in large pieces and pour brown sugar syrup over them (I know you said no sugar). I also do sweet potato fries just like the above post, they are yummy!
