They have a peel off label and you can write a persons name on them. Like a scratch off lottery ticket. Think that is a wonderfull idea! Sue

I love that! We've had many parties with red solo cups & permanent markers. I've even saved the cups from party to party. They go through the dishwasher just fine!
Why are they always red? They are like a red flag! I live at the beach, every year we have a big beach festival, everyone drinks on the beach. The police are now really cracking down on public drinking, so silly people walk around with their red cups. Other than trying to hide alcoholic drinks who walks around outside drink with a red plastic cup? They are so obvious. LOL

LOL !!! Guess not many of you are country music fans - it's all because of a top ten country music song that makes fun of fancy parties (in a good-hearted way) and asks what's wrong with hosting an event with red solo cups plus Sharpies to label your drink!
PS. Meischa, they also come in blue, aqua and green but red with the special pull-off label is all the rage now because of the song. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Idaho Resident,

I must be deprived here in CA, I only see red.
No I don't do country but I do parties with red solo cups and sharpies, now I can go first class with labels. Oh, I don't do fancy parties, I do fun parties!
I should go to youtube to hear the song and get educated.

Nope, I think he revived them.

Those cups aren't really new. My daughter used them a year ago at her son's birthday party. I thought they were a great idea.
She bought them at Big Lots. Funny, I guess they were introduced to different areas of the country at different times. They must not have gone over too well here since they ended up at BLs.
