My cat Spot is going to have kittens and not sure when. Not even sure how to tell about when she's going to have them.

I've heard that when cats is dropping kittens, some cats will diarrhea to empty the stomach. Generally speaking, cat's pregnancy periond is about 56-71 days.

Don't know about cats & have only had one dog to have puppies. Was told pregnancy would be more or less 63 days (9 weeks)... and was pretty much right on that date. Was told to watch for "unusual" behaviors. Dog was NOT into small spaces, so when she started working her ROUND self behind furniture, we knew it wouldn't be long. We figured if she didn't have pups when we were there, they'd end up on our BED... planned to put about EVERY old blanket we had on top. That probably would NOT have saved our bed! She arranged and rearranged that pile of blankets on the floor MANY times before last of 8 little red Dobies was born.

I hope your husband is OK. Since your not sure about when your cat will have the kittens, they do alright without our help 99% of the time. Your cat may not chose the bed to have the kittens, she more than likely will pick a dark closet or some other out of the way place. Maybe have your daughter put the bed in the back of a closet with OLD towels in it. I wish you the best, I've only seen puppies born.... Let us know how it goes when the time comes..

Thank you for asking hubby is doing better. The box that we got for her is in the back bedroom. That way I can close the door and she can get away from my dog. And she likes it and we have a towel and papers in it.

When I was a kid we had an expecting cat. We went out of our way to prepare a nice private, cozy warm spot for her. We were stunned when she decided to deliver on a keg of nails in our cold, dark nasty garage! Had a heck of a time getting mom & kittens to a safer spot. She even tried to bring them back to the keg.

Spot will go into the box and sleep. So that is a good thing. We keep all the rooms open so she can go where she wants to.

way back in '87 we had a cat that was in obvious imminent preps to deliver. I shut her in our big upstairs closet with a nice dark pile of soft rags.

about 5 a.m. I heard my then 3 year old son squealing "ain't they KUUUUTE???" I got up and found him holding 1 still wet kitten as the mother cat literally squeezed another kitten out into my 5 year old daughter's HAIR on her pillow!!!

They NEVER have kittens where you expect.

Life is GOOD!!

Cats are pregnant for around 63-65 days. If you'd visit a vet, he/she could definitely estimate the time when your cat is going to give birth. But don't worry if you don't have the chance to visit a vet. I'm sure everything is going to be just fine!

When I was little our family cat gave birth to 4 adorable kitten, and we didn't take her to the vet during the pregnancy.

Btw, have you thought about what you are going to do with the kittens? There's going to be at least 2-3 of those (probably more).
