All the dogs are on Trifexis. it contains Comfortis for fleas, and so help me, if there's anything that smells worse, I don't want to see it. comfortis smells like medicated powder. Aslan and Skipper are rivals and food motivated. I don't have any trouble getting it down them. the tablets for the big dogs are huge. I break them down and piece by piece, the guys swallow them with meatballs or stinky cat food. But Lucy. She's not food motivated. She's picky. Hand Aslan a bite and it's not on his tongue long enough to taste. Lucy takes everything with the edge of her teeth. I'm ready to scream. Last month I never did get the whole thing down her. so this month I mixed it in sardines. anything to cover the smell. No dice. this is her heartworm/flea preventive combo med. In the past I've had to wrestle her down and shove the food mixture down her. I assume the trust factor is gone. Nothing motivates her, so I'm at a loss. I call her our mule because she's so stubborn. HELP!

try mixing it in with some yogurt...or something totally different than she normally would eat. My dogs love Greek yogurt mixed into their food and the next time I have to use comfortis I will break it up and mix it into that. I know what you mean about the smell...it smells like a heavy mold infestation! *Debi* ~*Never trade the thrills of living for the security of existence*~

It smells like Ben-g*y. I've dealt with this for at least 2 years, but now with Trifexis, it's a lot more to swallow. I've put it in cottage cheese (her favorite), raw and cooked meat, cheese, cat food, and now sardines. I ordered empty gelatin capsules today from Amazon. They'll be here Thursday and she'll get dosed. Down the hatch the old fashioned way.
