LOL, those are funny!
They can't stand being in the house when we are outside. We were cutting the grass and they had to wait.

Georgia, no cats but yesterday they chased cranes out of the pond....what a mess!

Idaho.....I think they make promises with their toes crossed. Big Grin

Sherry, I know...they always know if you've been eating. When we come home from eating out we have to stand still for a "smell-down". LOL!

Thanks Georgia Peach!

They are sweet to us, but that's it. LOL! The bigger one looks out for his younger brother. He's is the protector of this home and he takes his job very seriously. Wink

When we have company he checks people out when they come in the door and then he's OK. He's 3-1/2 and the white one is almost 2.

After just a few months of marriage, 1st husband came home with a German Shepherd. He had been abused - no fault of the first small child as he was Downs but the parents should have paid closer attention. But they also had an alley behind the house and kids on bikes threw stuff at him and "sh0t" him with pea shooters.

So - we lived in town with a fenced in yard and kids on both sides. Now how easy do you think it would be for a dog that size to clear a regular chain link/hurricane fence? But he didn't.

I was outside hanging clothes on the line - we had a washer but no dryer. I turned around with the empty laundry basket to find Bo between me and the door. I thought - there's no way I'm going to be able to clear that fence before he catches me. I put the basket down and took one step toward him. He walked up to me. Put both front paws on my shoulder. Looked me in the eyes. Dropped back down to all fours and sauntered to his dog house.

I 'bout pee'd my pants! We were best buds from then on. Because the little girls on one side feed him treats through the fence we were eventually able to let him out in front when we were there. But the little bratty boy next door - nope. When that kid was out, the kid would cross the street and not cross the front of our yard. LOL

Bo was such a good dog - once when DH and I were horsing around, I screamed. Bo ran between DH and me, turned to DH and growled. DH just looked at the dog with wonder - then grinned. "Good! You've got a dog that will protect you from anyone."

What a sweet story. German Shepherds are intimidating looking and have a reputation to be respected. Most of all they are very protective and very sensitive to their owners feelings. Mine are just big babies with us at home.
I have two intact males and they have never fought or even growled at each other. But they do rough house up a storm when it's playtime. Just get out of their way! LOL!
