Haystack's Back! Sign In/Join

Well, I have been "discussing" with Haystack for a while now about whether or not to post back and up-date all on this "tiny kitten found about 6 days old" which resulted in some very popular threads and a following of sorts....

Haystack's response is yes, yes, yes... my response has been a bit more measured. Okay, Haystack had her blow-out "PARTY" last May and officially became a "CAT" ~ she sends thanks to everyone who came, btw...

Since then, has she become mellow? Sweet? A kitten who loves to cuddle? No way ... she continues to try to rule the roost and, is pretty successful at that, BUT she still is a fairly small cat (she weighs about 5 pounds) and regularly goes up against the others who are much bigger. I have told her, over and over, that there is no need for such behaviour ~ and over and over, she does it anyway!

So, just an update here, Haystack continues to run the house; she allows the Maine Coons their space and their milk; protects Aunt Beets and warns Uncle Bubba that he better not challenge her and then falls asleep at his feet.

Fortunately, Bubba is a love and takes good care of the most challenging little kitten anyone has ever been blessed to know ~ he endures her behavior and, when it gets too much, he grabs her by the back of the neck and hauls her upstairs ~ Haystack says that payback is coming....

Sounds like a new set of adventures for Haystack. Greetings from her buds from OHIO and Illinois too! One of the Illinois cats--who used to live in OH before the mastiff came-- is facing a tooth extraction and cleaning. Tell Haystack to brush her teeth! All four are due home for Thanksgiving so there will be much fur flying and hissing at our home. It's good that the gang in Idaho get along so well. At five pounds, Haystack would be at a great disadvantage with our foursome. I think that the lightest weighs about 8 pounds but they all act like they are lions!

Thanks for the update - Haystack sounds like a great wake up for the older bunch.

Your post reminds me how much I miss cats. As long as we have greyhounds I will have to resist the urge.

Charming, I assume that your dogs love to chase cats. My mastiff has a prey instinct. She doesn't have endurance but her first lunge is a powerful one. When my DS and DD bring their cats home for the holidays, they have special cordoned off areas that the dog cannot enter.

OK, I have been trying to post back for some time BUT Haystacks' paws keep getting in the way ~ she is so excited to get a message from Thai and wants to just say Wave! She is doing her happy dance ~ I swear she can see his image on the computer. But, no worries, except for the fact that Haystack is royally disappointed with me for not really up-dating what she has been doing, everything is good.

To be exact, her complaints are many; she is a cat with many talents and I, as her boring Mom, haven't began to up-date all of you on what she has been doing... So more, much more later! Cool

Thanks for the update on Haystack. i've been wondering what she was doing. I would love to see pictures of her and the other furbabies. They all sound beautiful. If I could figure out how to size pictures, I'd put some of my babies on the board. I don't want them screen size.

Thank you, Arkansas! It's my pleasure!

Sorry for any misconceptions that the topic title might have caused since this is the old thread and not some new episodes. But bumping them up was the only way I could figure out so "luvtoflip," a valued member of this board, who has recently returned could read them!

AND, welcome back, luvtoflip! You've been missed! Wave

Keep the stories about Haystack's exploits coming. Cissie, Dulcey, Grey and Cheetah all say Hi Haystack.
