Yesterday, while my friend was at work, her neighbor, thinking she was doing my friend a favor, put my friend's dog on the tie-out in the yard. When my friend got home that evening she found her dog was dead. The dog had water and some shade but it was just way too hot to be outside for any length of time. The vet believes the death was related to the heat. Please take the heat into consideration when letting your pets out. Just a few minutes in the extreme heat that we are having right now may be all that a pet can tolerate.

Thanks for posting and, YES, you are so right. Please don't kill with kindness - thinking it is better to be outside in fresh air. It isn't, it's not and it just might be the last factor before the inevitable.

PLEASE, EVERYONE, JUST KEEP YOUR ANIMALS SAFE INSIDE WITH YOU...

OMG! How horrible, that poor dog had a miserable death that I hate to even think about. If you remember several years ago I posted about Bandit having a heat stroke from running in the back yard. It was horrible!

I can't imagine how stupid that neighbor iss. I am sure she is as upset as the OP, but still a little common sense goes a long way.
