This morning my DH heard Della crying at at the bottom of the stairs. Usually Della will come upstairs and wake us up when she wants to go outside. DH went downstairs he found my 83 yr.old mother had fallen out of bed and was on the floor. So, the question is did Della try to get our attention because of my mother or was she just lazy and didn't climb the stair crying at the bottom to get our attention to go outside? My mother said Della was sitting with her licking her face. DELLA NEVER GIVES KISSES. What do you think?

Had 2 Rotties many years ago... total babies who just wanted to be close to ANYBODY.

Awwwwww, I've always thought of your beautiful Della as a hero, but today she definitely proved it! What a GREAT girl she is! Give her a big kiss and a hug from me and hope your mom is okay!

Absolutely a hero, and please tell the local SPCA/Animal groups about this. This is worthy of atttention. Especially since she is a Rottie and they often get bad press.

What a good idea, do give the Rotties a good press item and do tell them about her and what a wonderful thing she did!

Della did what Rottie's were bred to do...protect their family members.
Surely she "saved" your mother from harm by ignoring routine.
