I wrote previously about being paranoid because of Rusty getting spinal disease (forget name). Rusty turned 6 yrs last July and passed Oct.

Midget will be 6 yrs. this Friday. I have a party set up. Tonight she had a hard time and didn't seem able to walk. If she continues AM, will take her to vet. I know the RX that they can give her, etc., been thru this with Rusty. Maybe it isn't anything.

I am just heart sick.

"doxie family," I can hear how concerned you are and glad that Midget has such an attentive mom! But, remember, all of us have days when we aren't as spunky as others and hopefully it isn't anything serious.

Just keep an eye on her and take her to the vet tommarow if necessary. I will be hoping things go well and you have a great party for her on Friday!

Doxie,

I also wanted to say I hope Midget is fine. Hopefully it's just a little temporary something. I'll be sending t's & p's her way also! As Yve said, please keep us posted on her. A birthday party for her...awww, how sweet is that??? I bet she'll love that!

She is still not walking. She did go from her cushion to the bathroom rug during night.

I will take her to the vet as soon as they open. I said a prayer, but I also know there is that place where Acceptance is needed. Dachshunds have this problem. I just hope if it is this that strong medicine will help. I will keep you posted.

I made an appt. with Dr. Mark for Midget and fenced her off so she would rest. It is hard when you have more than one to do this. I had appts., so I had to leave her, which was good so I wouldn't dwell on this as her appt. was 3 pm. The inspiring thing is that she was walking good and had an appetite.

We felt kind of dumb to take her now, but wanted to follow thru. Dr. Mark did some touching and her muscles reacted which pointed out she had some pain. He thinks she just pulled a muscle and we got medicine.

Wanted to write the good news. Sad news is hard. I am now extremely tired as I worried all last night. I need to work on acceptance.

Doxie, I'm so glad to hear that it's most likely a pulled muscle. I'm sure you'll give her lots of lovies to encourage a quick recovery.

doxie, I am very happy to hear its muscle related. I know how spent you must feel from worrying. She'll probably be feeling better by Friday and will be able to enjoy her upcoming birthday celebration. (((Big Birthday Hug))) for her.

My life seems so busy and when I wrote didn't know the RX I was given - rimyadl - not sure I spelled correctly. I was thinking that my Rusty had a bloody stool with this medicine. He never could take the usual shots either and had to rush him to the emergency room several times for a counter-reaction shot.

So Midget is tougher and poor Rusty had six good years with us, but I get ahead of myself now with worry. I just read a thread "maybe if vet was open I could have saved" - I think we blame ourselves. I know I - we - thought if we had paid more attention to him. Dogs/cats don't really complain until it may be too late.

I am starting new thinking... acceptance of G O D's will, not mine. Seems like my post don't go thru and maybe it is that word?

doxie,

I am SO glad to hear it's only a pulled muscle! I hope she recovers soon. I know what you mean about worrying and acceptance. It can be so very hard sometimes. Give Midget a big hug for me & a happy birthday to her! Smile I know you must be so relieved.

Doxie, after a Rottie and several smaller other dogs, you gotta remember every dog is different - same as we humans.
If you trust your vet, no more freaking out about "MAYBE" until he can evaluate your doxies!

btw, how are you doing with the new joint?

tessa, I am like the Tin Man in the Wizard of Oz. I crank up out of bed, but I am up.

With today's technology have drugs, oils, patches, etc., all suppose to help. It takes about a year for someone my age I think.

I am very happy with the knowing all is fine here. Thank you for asking. I am in H O T Las Vegas - about 110 in shade by me.

What did your vet say about Midget?

Hope Midget is okay.

My Maxie pulled a muscle or something Monday night. Dr. gave her a shot of Rimadyl and then pills. I have given her 2 but no more. Diahria (spelling??) bad since then and blood in the stools I cleaned up when I came in tonight. I called the Emergency Vet Clinic and they said to not give her any more as it could cause that. She hasn't gone anymore since I got home (over 2 hours) although she has tried. I'll see how she does tonight and if she doesn't go anymore, I will just call her vet tomorrow.
