Cleaning, doing laundry, rearranging some stuff in my sewing room, watched some of Bonnie on Quilt Cam, and even talked DH into cleaning up a stack of papers in the office! Didn't see that as a choice on the voter thingy...

Our TV hasn't been turned on since this morning when Face the Nation went off. Has been lovely. Now, had DH been home, there'd have been football on all day!!!

None of the above. Drove 3 hours to attend DGDs 2nd birthday! She did real good for a 2 year old! She was seen dipping baby carrots in dip, going to the gate, and feeding them to the dogs. LOL But she stuffed the summer sausage into her own mouth one piece after the other. Her cute cake had fondant icing and fondant frogs/lily pads/etc. She preferred eating the fondant frogs to eating the cake. Except for the feet. I think the feet tickled Wink so she handed them to me. I was holding her cousin, my 26 month old DGS and he ate the frog legs. I told him he was going to turn into a frog. He ate a couple of legs, turned to his DM and said, Me frog.

I love those kids!

She liked the doll quilt best! LOL

When we got there, DH untied everything in the pickup and I took the doll bed in the house with the doll rolled up in the mattress/pad and quilt inside a plastic trash bag. She saw the bed and while she ignored it, I had also made a tutu and the netting was sticking out of a gift bag. We let her get into it, my SIL: tied it around her waist and she wore the tutu the rest of the day. Smile Every so often, she would kick her leg out and watch the netting flutter. SO CUTE!

When the gift opening was winding down - she'd open something, grab it, and take off to investigate it further - took a little while to get everything opened. LOL While that was winding down, I put the pad down in the bed, doll on it, and totally covered her with the doll quilt. I carried it into the dining room and placed it in front of her. She saw the quilt which was made from scraps of her baby quilt, plucked it off the doll, wrapped it over her head and took off again.

That was so much fun!

DH made another child-size picnic table out of cypress wood. Absolutely gorgeous! When he asked what he could make her, I suggested a kitchen. THANK GOODNESS he decided on the picnic table. His ex gave her a kitchen. WHEW we dodged that awkward situation!

Am I missing something? What play-offs? Sports? Guess I'm on the I-pad while I'm gluing down appliqué pieces for the elephant quilt!

I SHOULD be sewing while....cruising to Jamaica. I did take quilt magazines. I would love to take fabric, rotary cutter and mat, but my rotary cutter would be confiscated at the airport and this would be another suitcase to pay for. This is a perfect time to do cross stitching, but I don't cross stitch anymore. I would need to pack an Ott light too, lol!

my question is "I should be sewing INSTEAD of..."

instead of staying on the computer so much!

Sherry, we do need a "Like" button for each post. So glad you had such a fun day! Life from the perspective of a 2 yr old is full of wonder. I could picture her doing all those things as I read your account. That occasional leg kick, just to watch the tutu layers flutter ... how precious! Maybe we should all wear tutus again. Smile

I finished the sewing room yesterday. Almost all the fabric is in tubs under beds. Did I make a mistake? ?? I left batiks, unfinished projects and tools/notions in the closet there. I DID watch the end of the Ravens/Pats game. DH was mightily disappointed but felt that it was going to go to the Ravens from the outset. To the "who cares" folks: my DH is super supportive of me in my hobby. He takes me to the Retreats and fixes my back for me as we go..this keeps me functioning. After 37 years we have a decent give-take kinda relationship. That's the way it should be with BEST FRIENDS, right?

See my tag line? I was definitely watching the playoff - GO RAVENS!!! I was NOT bummed. In fact, I was jumping up and down. I am a total football geek - hey, I raised three sons, it was part of the job!!!

But I WAS sewing. I do handwork during football games - if I didn't do handwork, wear my jersey and special socks, they might lose. I know they depend on me to do these things to help them, so I do. Smile

Big Grin

I missed Downton Abbey because we were returning from the birthday party. I'm going to see if we have fast enough internet to watch it on the computer during lunch.

Downton Abbey I record - I always watch that on Mondays. I get up at 4:30 or so and I just can't stay up very late anymore.

I wish they do something about John Bates. That story lines just is kind of bogged down I think. JMHO

Do any of your LQS's do special Superbowl Sunday sales? A few around here have tried that. First time I went, the store was PACKED.

I watched the football games too. My DH is a sport fanatic-most SEC games but always watches NFL playoffs. We will go to the local Super Bowl party at our local hangout. Yes I have squares picked. One year I won $125.00! Paid for dinner and drinks for all of us so that worked out.

I don't even wanna talk about the mess that's in my quilting studio. You can barely walk in there. And what have I been doing you ask? Sitting on my big ol' behind watching TV with DH and hand sewing hexagons for my flower garden. I think my butt is spreading----

So much to do---so little time!!

Sherry-sounds like you had a grand day with the grands! How precious to make that tutu flutter. My youngest DD played Cinderella after she got her long nightgown on-she would run and drop her slipper and glance back-lol! Too cute!!
