I've enjoyed the show several times now! Last night, 16 yr old DD looked through it with me. She picked out pleasing attributes to nearly all of them - getting excited when she noticed some element. It was fun to appreciate them through her eyes too.

I've voted and submitted quilt maker guesses too.

... trust me Jean, it's not from lack of interest' it's inability to decide between the many wonderful works of art submitted ... last year was tough, this year is toughER.

I agree with Sandie, Jean. I have looked at the slide show a half dozen times. I have done the closeups too. I have a list started but oh, my... so hard to get them into categories and you've heard this before... all deserve to be winners and choosing will take me awhile longer.
I look for this each year and always have enjoyed it so much!

... looking again tonight - have my list, and a fav, now I just need to get them organized .. and vote - it's first on my task list tomorrow ..
Every one of you has done an outstanding job.. if i dont' choose yours it's just cuz i chose a different one ..that's not meant to mean a 'better' one.

I am going to do my voting and guesses this weekend.

I showed my quilt to a few people I know, some like it, some don't (as is the way with all things) but three people said they would love to have it and were oohing and ahhing over the fabrics and the pattern. All's well.....and my quest to fill the world with pretty and interesting quilts goes on successfully!

Jean, I forgot the write-in vote. Can I send that in separately?

I agree that all 30 entries are winners and thanks, Jean, for doing this challenge every year.

Now you know why I enlist all your help. There's no way I could do it on my own. Although, over the years, I have developed a sense of what you all like, so it could be possible. I did make a list of the ones I think you all would choose, and so far most of it is accurate, but there is a long way to go.

Quite simply, we need more votes to come in. We all Thank You so much for helping.

I'm surprised that someone would tell you they didn't like your quilt. Most people are too polite and you'd have to guess by their less than enthusiastic response.

My DD's are the only ones who'll tell me what they think. Since I've made plenty that they really like, they feel comfortable telling me when a quilt isn't successful. Also, with Project Linus tops that I quilt, they'll tell me exactly how ugly some of them are - especially ones with lots of black or small "old lady" prints. I'm glad the ones who made those tops didn't hear the criticism! I take it as a challenge to quilt or remake (complete a UFO or add extra borders) some of these into something a child would enjoy.

Anyway, continue on with your quest!

OK It took looking at them 4 times, but I picked out 10 differents to win now I want all others to know WOW!!!!!!!!! I wamted to list all to WIN but JEAN told us we could not. they are so great.

Thank You Jean for hosting and everyone for making the quilts and everybody that helped Jean.

Well, I sent in my vote. So much easier to just list the 10 I picked. Of course, it was very hard picking out those 10!

Oh my goodness. That was amazing!!! I need to take a LOT more time to 1. Look closely at the starting fabrics because I can't get over the fact that all of those beauties started there. 2. Look closely at each one and 3. vote.

So much talent! Great job to all.

I have looked at the slide show twice. I will send my votes this weekend. Been working 12 hour days plus 90 minutes in the car each day, I am wiped to truly consider my 10 winners.

I sent my votes...took everything in me not to vote for myself. (I always feel like I should just to make sure of at least one vote!)

wow, we did out do ourselves. I'm very impressed. Will need to study this weekend and send my votes. (not than anyone can tell but mine is upside down)

I took advantage of this option. Even when I voted for the winners before, I never got the categories right.

The quilts are all wonderful! So hard to make choices.

Why must they be 10 Different quilts?
Can't they just be 10 votes even if some are also chosen in 2 or 3 different catergories?

When I chose my Viewer's Choice I found that Best Design was also the same. If its my Favorite, why can't it also be Best Design?
That's what's holding up my vote at this point.

You're making it too darn hard to choose.

Sent my choices in...I wish I could have voted for everyone.

I did this challenge, one year. It was so hard for me. I appreciate how hard it is to do.

Quitbea, there will be 9 ribbons awarded, so that's why Jean is asking everyone for their top 10 picks. The quilts that receive the most votes receive the prizes and a quilt can not receive a prize in multiple categories.

Hope this helps. I'm sure that Jean will come along to add more eloquence to the answer.

I'll try to explain it a little further though. In the past, there were some quilts getting multiple votes from the same person. Which drove their numbers much higher. It doesn't seem fair for one person to vote more than once for the same quilt. It would be like stacking the deck (in my opinion). This is the reason I changed the rules to ten different quilts. Now, everyone is indicating its too difficult to categorize them. So, now all you have to do is pick your ten favorite.
