Why does this keep happening to me? The fabric gets pulled down into the dog feeds, when I yank it back out it looks like this. I've cleaned it out, no loose threads inside! I must be doing something wrong? ******************************** ROFL! LOL! Its a RR at the LQS! We're gonna make a bunch of HST and then practice our FMQ! What the heck does that mean?! If you don't want to use the single hole face plate, you can try a 'leader' scrap of fabric to start sewing on. Or, just try holding the threads for just a stitch or two when you begin stitching - the top thread doesn't have anything to grab onto, and it creates those nests.... when it happens to me, i completely rethread my machine and hold onto those threads at the beginningThis message has been edited. I rethreaded the machine and changed the bobbin. It didn't jam up this time, but look! Its a big loose mess! ******************************** ROFL! LOL! Its a RR at the LQS! When I turn the tension all the way over to 9, it stitches tightly. 0 leaves big big loops. 4 leaves the loops in the pic above. Something musty be wrong with it. ******************************** ROFL! LOL! Its a RR at the LQS! We're gonna make a bunch of HST and then practice our FMQ! What the heck does that mean?! Are those loops on the top or the bottom? On Top means your top tension has a problem...bottom means your bottom tension is a problem....depending on how thick your fabric is you may need a wider stitch or possible a bigger needle...I don't have a Pfaff so I'm going by what I have experienced on my machine(s) Do you have lint under your bobbin case possibly? When the nesting, like the first picture, happens to me on my Pfaff, I use a leader scrap like Char mentioned, and start sewing it in the middle of the scrap. Then it's like chain piecing when I put the good piece in. When I get the loose tension loops, it's usually because I had the machine threaded wrong at the top, not the bobbin, even though it looks like a bobbin problem. Sometimes I have to rethread the machine several times until I get it right. Are you using a thread that is new to you, or has it worked before? I usually don't have to change the tension more than a little, no more than one number, around the middle range. It worries me that you had to go from 0 to 9. The only other thing I can think of is that I'm now careful when I wind the bobbin to have it wind smoothly. I do this by pressing down slightly on the thread far away from the bobbin. There are several other Pfaff owners here. I hope someone comes along with more suggestions. ![]()

The loops are on the bottom. Its a brand new machine, so.. I am just going to bring it to the sewing shop tomorrow and ask them to help me with it I guess. :-) Thanks for trying! ******************************** ROFL! LOL! Its a RR at the LQS! I will try rethreading again, and starting with a new bobbin. Thanks for the pic, that helps! ******************************** ROFL! LOL! Its a RR at the LQS! have you changed the needle as it might be dull or have bend in it? Happy Stitching...Lois

Well, that was weird. I thought that did the trick, so I started in on this seam. I don't know if the picture will show up, dark fabric and dark thread.. but can you see where it got loopy in the middle of a continuous seam? Strange! ******************************** ROFL! LOL! So glad that you bought it locally and have a shop near you. That's the best place to get help.

I hope you can get into your dealer very soon and that they can help you quickly!! Char

Your dealer is the best one to tell you what is wrong. I have a Creative Vision and haven't had any problems like you are having, except the birds nest at the beginning if I don't hold the threads. The only time I change tension is when I'm using the decorative stitches. Then the change is no more than 1 number. Good luck. It's probably some tiny something!

I have a Bernina and when that happened to me after changing the needle, re-threading the machine, cleaning out the machine and also using a piece of fabric before stitching I found out that the "teeth" were not clean and the fabic was not being "grabbed" smoothly. Good luck, amiko
