Here is a photo of a close up of the quilting I took earlier. Quilt is not with me now, it's in the states, but I will ask Fam to take a few pix and post them.

I have not yet figured out how to post pictures from my Mac on this site. Could you PM your email address? Then I can send pictures of my batik Strip Twist to you by email and then maybe you can post it.

I Really wanted to get this sewn, but finally gave up any hope about 2 months ago- cataracts in both eyes. They are smack dab in the center and really annoying, so am having one surgery tomorrow, the other mid July. Unfortunately the surgeon rightfully is choosing to do the nondominant eye first, just in case. Will try to do some sewing at the end of this month, but know I won't finish anything. I love the Bricks and Steppingstones pattern, and will be making a few by the end of the year. I'm thinking white pindots on black, and plain white for the 4 patches. Looking forward to seeing how others are made. Meantime I will be cutting more blocks. Planning on at least 1 made from men's shirts.

Have some time at the end of the month so am going to give it a go with the bright bricks quilt. Some success with the R eye surgery, and colors are a lot cleaner and brighter. Looking forward to having the L eye done mid July.

I'm working a double shift today, so I am leaving now and won't be home until after 10:00 pm if I don't stop to view the fireworks from our LLB parking garage. The best view in the city.

If you have any questions, you will have to wait until I get home, but wanted to let you know I was not going to be on the boards so you wouldn't wait for an answer. Have a safe 4th!

I emailed a photo of Nora's rainbow Bricks & Stepping Stones. We finished just the night before last. The busy summer schedule got in the way if us meeting the quilted deadline but Nora is so happy with her soon to be quilt all the same.

This morning when I logged into facebook I noticed Bonnie Hunter had shared a photo of it on her Quiltville facebook page Wink which was a nice surprise considering just before that I read that all of the activities, hot air balloon race, parade and even fireworks for tonight have all been cancelled due to rain :/. Oh we'll we are happy to be home spending time with family all the same.

Happy 4th of July everyone!!

And while I cannot play, I've still been sewing along with you! Here is one of the finished tops. I've got another I need to add the piano key border and enough blocks for many more tops. The plan is to make a couple snuggler quilts and some wheelchair throws.

Now, time to draw the winner! Smile

Hooray Karen! All the quilts are lovely. I just couldn't sew much due to the cataract problems, but am having surgery on my dominant eye in 2 weeks. I am So looking forward to being able to see better. I probably wouldn't have finished in time anyway. The weeks of steamy rainstorms in NY have been miserable, and the thought of quilting and binding just isn't very appealing right now. I Will get back to work on my Bricks quilt soon. I did manage to deconstruct about 20 more men's shirts for a second Bricks quilt.

Congratulations!! I stopped into Joann's today and bought batting for Miss Maggie's quilt....I promised to get it sandwiched and ready for her to quilt by the time she comes for her next weekend - in two weeks. Since I'm giving sewing lessons to 2 co-workers next weekend it had to be now Smile I have three machines set up downstairs for our lesson next Saturday....looking forward to it. I have Miss Maggie's top front and center to give them inspiration Smile After all, if a 10 year old can do that - so can they....

Karen, I replied to you via PM about the width of the piano key borders, which are just ends cut from the excess from the strip sets. The one in the picture on the chair is 3 1/2"--I've posted other photos in the past from outside and have another one just finished with 5" borders. If I have time after I finished longarming my challenge quilt, I will also do that one and post a photo.
