Lisa and Deb, your packages arrived today. I will work out the swap between working. Thank you ALL for getting your shipments to me in before the dealine--your the BEST!
They're here!!!!!! And not a single duplicate! What a wonderful surprise. This has truly been the Best swap I've ever been in- great fabrics and on time. Thank you Kathleen, and thank you everyone. Now to get organized enough to sew this weekend. Forcing myself to do some cleaning so I can enjoy the snowy cold weekend. Janet
I was going to sew a top tonight, but its so cold, I am quilting in my easy chair next to the fire. I think I will be here till I crawl under the covers tonight. Keep warm everyone!
My package arrived - yesterday - computer died at the office and we spent all night dealing with that last night. They are all so fun!! Miss Maggie will be thrilled. Thank you so much for the special BD item for her I've put it in a safe place!

I joined this swap, but not to swap just to sew along. I missed the Jan 18 deadline but this past weekend I finished my quilt top of Bonnie Hunter's Bricks and Stepping Stones.
I am going to go ahead and show you a picture of my quilt.
I made this quilt this weekend while on a three day sewing Bee to make quilts for Quilts of Valor. I used scraps I found from going around to all the ladies and picking up pieces they had left over after cutting out their quilt tops.
Some of my blues show up as too dark so I lose some of my stepping stones. I am using this quilt as a lesson learned in values that Bonnie talks about.
Warm Buns, see below. Just send me the pictures required and you will be entered into the contest.
"What is it, oh KC1930, mistress of luring us in with your good looks and charm? Well, if you make and complete either the Bricks and Stepping Stone or Strip Twist quilt and submit three photos-one full size of the quilt, one showing the quilting and one showing the binding by July 4, 2013 your name will go into the drawing for a $50 JA gift card! Here is a great chance to get an early holiday gift or charity quilt done and win a prize!"
Thanks for putting up the picture. This will be an engagement present for my goddaughter and her fiancé, so my goal is to have it complete by the time I see them at Easter.
I don't have any progress photos but just wanted to let DJBrown know how grateful I am that she posted her photo using the solid black & whites!
I sewed all my B&W prints together after the swap came back, trimmed a few and sewed them to a bright brick and quickly decided they were just too busy after seeing DJ Browns. I'll use the B&W 4 patches for something else and will be strip piecing my solids.

I decided to make mine smaller (no room in our house and hand quilting takes a while), so I am no longer part of the contest. Have had a lazy birthday weekend, so finished the top minus borders today. I can't decide if I want to do a simple straight border like quiltville or a fancier border, but that will not happen today- lesson planning, dinner, bowling.

The brights/b-w are beautiful! Great job, ladies. I have my Strip Twist quilted but am still searching for the fabric for the binding that I put away in a "safe place" so I could find it easily -- ha!
Thanks for bumping this up! Mine is done, pieced, quilted and bound but know I'm wondering if there is a size limit. Mine is... An over sized lap quilt, almost a twin size. :?
I have done a little sewing. Some four patches and only one brick attached to a four patch at this point. Need to decide whether to focus on the bright one of the one with 30's prints and get to it!
I have been doing Strip Twist blocks as leaders/enders in other projects--have 9 blocks constructed so have more to go. When I bury the strips (easily done!!) I've been also doing the blk/wht squares now with solid white contrast as leaders/enders for Bricks and Stones. I have a border to quilt then bind that quilt and I'm free to work on COF strip swap for June and these quilts!!
