Sister sue and I are in Branson and believe me we are toooooo busy having fun to do any sewing. Holly, hope you are feeling better. I hope some of the people who have their row robbins done here post them, because every one of them are beautiful. Just amazing to think that 7 people made a row and and turned those rows into a quilt top.
I've been working on Scraps to Treasure and trying to gather our guild's nominating committee for next year's board members. So nothing I can show, but quilting has been on my mind and in my conversations all week. Have a great time in Branson, Sister Sue and Patty J!
I have been focusing on UFO's having been out of commission for the past two years due to health and I have completed two queen-sized quilts for our bed - on is a fall/winter and the other is Christmas - both are at the quilters. So exciting to have those done. Working on a king-sized for DD#2 - it is all batiks and 5" blocks, so need a few hundred and have only 125 done and they are not trimmed to size yet, so will be working on that.
Been catching up on the fun in Branson, sorry I couldn't make it this year but sounds like they're having a great time. Thanks Holly and hope you're feeling a little better.

I hope you feel better soon Holly. Bronchitis is exhausting...
Here is my 1st quilting project in 3 years, love the "This & That" line of patterns. I hope to finish the piecing this afternoon. This message has been edited. Last edited by: asimplelife,
So sorry you are feeling bad Holly, you recover soon.
I have been working on this purse for DD#1 for her birthday, which was Sept 5. We are going for a visit next week and on to the beach for a few days, so will be delivering it in person. Our oldest is a junior at Auburn and DD and DGS are going to the Auburn-Georgia game in Nov. Both are Georgia fans but DGS will be routing for Auburn and DD will be routing for Georgia. Since they live in south Alabama, I think she will enjoy carrying the purse.
I've never made a purse before, so I was a little slow working on this. I especially had a hard time with getting the small pieces of eleastic sewn in on the cover (which is removable), they kept slipping out and I had to re-sew a couple of times. There must be an easier way to do it.
Asimplelife, that is so pretty.
I have a lot of projects that I need to get started and done, my list just keeps getting longer.
Holly get well! One of the ladies at work went home sick yesterday. Was sure she had pneumonia again but it was bronchitis. Know she was one sick puppy... Chris

Holly get well soon I have been sewing in small spurts due to the broken hip but am making progress. I got another Carol Daok BOM block done but no pic yet. Hope to get another tomorrow then will take pics. The #5 set I have 3 blocks to make as I wasn't sure I was going to keep with the colors but I need a "guy" one so here goes. Hope you are all well and sewing up a storm.
I thought I hadn't accomplished much this week until I got ready to post. Then I realized that it hasn't been a bad week after all. At guild meeting on Tuesday, I made two more blocks for DGD's quilt but don't have a picture. I bound a queen size quilt, hand whipping it on the back. This quilt will probably be given to one of my nieces.
Everyone's projects this week are really nice. I posted mine in the Stashbusting thread earlier but will attach it here too.
I made a wheelchair tote for a co-worker's mom this past week & am very happy how it turned out. It just so happens that she had to go to the hospital & then sent to a nursing home the day before I got it finished. Now she's not walking at all but it's hanging on a regular straight back chair for her right now. I hope she will be walking again soon & be able to use it.

Love those quilts & the quilt blocks too & Nlk, the walker bag you made is very pretty. That fabric must look nice & cherry hanging on her chair. Great choice. Hope your friend's mom gets well soon.
I have nothing to show. I am trying to sew a zipper into a throw pillow cover & I am ready to throw up my hands in defeat. I have sewn & unsewn & I'm not sure the fabric will hold up to another try. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Miss Lensews2,

No cutting for me this week-end. I've already got everything cut for the quilt I'm working on. Need to have it finished so I can use it in a machine quilting class on Oct. 13th- a friend & I are taking the class so we can learn to use the long-arm machine in a local quilt shop. Once we've taken the class, we can rent the machine for $10 an hour. I'm also going thru my quilting magazines- keeping a few, but most are being paper-recycled after I tear out the patterns I want.
Nicki- You did a fantastic job on that wheelchair tote! Can you tell me where you found the pattern? I need to make one for my mother who is in a nursing home.
Happy Stitching All! Susan

• • • I am just now getting caught up after being at the retreat. We had a great time and unfortunately I didn't get much sewing done while there. I was able to get a little tatting done, no picture yet.
I do have a photo of my FQ Challenge which I can finally share with you. It didn't turn out exactly as planned, but it was well received and won "Most Creative" at the retreat.

Susan, I used the pattern from the following link but I did change it up a bit. I lined mine & put pockets on the inside. I used blue jeans for the base & jazzed it up with some pretty flower print (Jayardi's suggestion). It was pretty heavy & durable.
