2 or 3 years ago I took a class from the Sicilianos on making paper pieced quilts and this is the one we worked on. It is 18" x 18" and has 1038 pieces - 1042 if you count the border. I had put it away and when I went to take it out about a year ago I couldn't find the background fabric so I bought some while in Lancaster when he was teaching there. Since then I have been working on and off on this and Finally, it is FINSHED!This message has been edited. Last edited by: Gonesewin,

Do I really want to rip all the paper off of the back???

Let me be the first WOW! That is gorgeous! Love the colors and you're very good at paper piecing. I'm not! I know it's a good feeling to have it done... good job!
That is AMAZING! I really admire George Siciliano's work, but paper piecing is not my friend. You did an awesome job & should be really proud of yourself.
I just noticed a brown piece should be green! Wahhh
I should take it apart and correct it, shouldn't I???

Had to go back and look again to find the mistake. I think I'd change it. Otherwise, you'll always be focusing on the error instead of just enjoying the entire piece.
Sometimes I laugh so hard tears run down my leg! Lois
very very nice, if you decide to take paper off one suggestion keep your trash basket very near. I have problems with keeping paper off everything. lol/ you did a nice job on this pc.

That is beautiful. If it bothers you I'd say go back and fix it. As for the paper, it's so small I wouldn't bother with it. Once you back and bind it no one will see the paper. Besides it's hard to get it out of all those small places.
Your quilt is BEAUTIFUL! I wouldn't worry about the error, that is your little secret! I would be more worried about damaging the quilt trying to correct it.
Makes you wish someone would invent dissolving paper for this, doesn't it! I hate ripping out the papers.
As much of a pain in the patootie it'll be, I would fix the mistake...you'll feel better about it. Also, remove the paper...I had to on my mini feathered star and the pieces were lots smaller...get your tweezers out!!! IF you don't want to spend the time removing it then just send it to ME & I'll take it off your handds {mistake & all}!!
LOVE it!!! GREAT job!!

I was getting crosseyed trying to find the brown piece. If it was me...I'd fix it. It would drive me crazy. It is lovely. PP is so much fun and so worth the effort.

You seem to be a pretty divied group - I think I will un-sew it and fix the boo boo. But I don't think I'm going to remove the paper. It's a wall hanging, what will it matter? And, just in case any of my seams are skimpy I won't risk pulling them out.

I don't see it..but you do...and I'd leave the back on too! Terrific job and very patient you are. I LOVE paper piecing. Look at the effects you can get with it!

I'm glad you decided to fix the mistake — I would too. If you will use it as a wall hanging, I would not rip out the paper. If, however, it's going into a quilt that has to be washed, then yeah. I'm with Lynne, those needle-nose tweezers are the best.
It's absolutely gorgeous, and I think you are a top-notch paper-piecer.
ETA: I just looked at the Sicilianos' website, and there are some gorgeous pieces there. The crop circles that is 15 x 21 with 2,842 pieces and someone offered him $10 for it and wanted 5 more for placemats? Is she still hospitalized? Or is he from laughing himself sick? This message has been edited. Last edited by: needlecrazy,

It's really pretty. I like how the colors increase in their intensity. You'll love seeing this one quilted and bound and displayed. I agree with WarmBuns, the paper comes off pretty easily if you pull each block gently by the corners. The paper releases at each seam before the fabrics stretch. I don't see the misbehaving piece, but whatever you decide to do will be fine.
