Here's the results of that quilt for my granddau. She's away this weekend so I put it on her bed as a surprise when she gets home. I made two pillows shams and two throw pillows to match. The colors fit her room perfectly.
IndycatCarol quilted it and her price was good and her work was superb, as you can see. I love that flower panto she used.
I finished the hand binding last nite around midnite.

Just beautiful. Maybe you could take a picture of her expression when she walks in and sees it. I'll bet she will really like it.

What a wonderful Grandmother you are! She is going to be so tickled when she sees how great that goes with the new paint. Hugs are a comin'!

Really wonderful quilt! Goes with her bedroom so well!

I have some pillow shams that go with my maternal grandmother's Dresden Plate quilt and the appraiser said that added to the value of the quilt.

    Lucky granddaughter!

What a beautiful quilt! What girl doesn't love pink and purple? The prints go beautifully together. I bet you can't wait to see the look on her face.

Kim, my double Irish Chain isn't hard at all. Its just two blocks repeated again and again. I liked having a bold print in the large section instead ok just a plain fabric, hence the lilacs.

My granddau has no idea I was making this for her. She's never seen me working on it and I've not mentioned that I was making her a quilt. I had asked her if she wanted another quillow but maybe in a more adult pattern (I had made her Precious Moments figures (they were panels) on her kiddy quillow which her Mom has packed away for her own kids), and she said 'no' she's got enough snugglers. So this will be a surprise for her.

Very pretty - and matching pillows too. I can just hear the squeals of delight! Is it for a special occasion or do you spoil her like this all of the time? Smile

Thanks for all the kind words everyone.
I love making quilts and I can't keep them all, so they go to family and friends, sometimes for Christmas or a birthday but most of the time just for no reason at all.

I also make quilts to donate to a worthy cause sometimes so I'm going to keep quilting til I'm too feeble to sit at the sewing machine and there'll always be someone getting my quilts.
