I recently received an email from Q4K with a quilt that was extra cute. Go to quiltsforkids.org, go to "What's Happening" and check out the quilt featured under, "And the Winner Is." The Coker Creek TN chapter made some great skateboard quilts for older teen boys.

Great idea! I think you could pretty easily draft that pattern.

I collect sports fabrics — baseball, basketball, soccer, anything like that — and use them in Warm Wishes patterns or other easily pieced tops. They are great for older boys (younger ones too!).

Love the idea...and it should be easy to duplicate that pattern...however I bet if we "volunteered to make some quilts as a group at least one from every state" for QFK (Hint, Hint) they would share their pattern for a good cause...We did a successful "Doll Quilts for Christmas" under Nickie's terrific direction, don't know why we couldn't do this using our scraps....Read FAQ on QFK 1st...no binding required...it a wrap...

Thanks so much Karen for making it a link! I received another email from Q4K and they said that a lot of quilters wanted the pattern. They referenced the magazine the pattern was in and how to purchase it. I think I would try to draft it first. May - I would love to help, but we own a tent rental business and I am not supposed to be sewing in the summer. (Just don't tell my hubby!!!) Just kidding - he knows I will still try to eek out a minute or two at the machine. I can still watch the Weather Channel to keep an eye on the places we have tents while I sew!

I hear you...I am a Realtor all year long but Spring to late fall I am a Realtor working a ton of hours and trying to keep up with my yard, gardens and family...I always love the time change in the fall...then I get to return to quilting.

I did send an email about starting a Q4K Chapter here since we do not have one,I did not ask about the pattern because its an easy one for me to draft. I was thinking about the Chapter since I am growing tired of my Guild...sounds like a huge undertaking time commitment for me so I'm gonna' think on it some more.
