I sent 42 as well, but I kept "my" squares. At least I think I did. Oh well, I have plenty of fabric since I too was able to get 7 out of each strip.

CQW, I'm thinking that's an ooops. We were to cut 42 pair, keeping one pair for ourselves and sending 41 pair, but some of us got confused and sent 42.

• • • Three more packages arrived today.

Terrimae, thank you very much. It really brightened my day! I LOVE it!!

Needlecrazy, I beg to differ. Only 41 twice. Wink Unless I counted wrong. I'll double check though.

CQ, I didn't want to confuse anyone, but since the door is open. 41 is the number of challengers and the extra set would make it 42. However, you are not suppose to send me your pair. That brings it back down to 41. Before I started requesting the extra set, everyone was confused because I would only ask for 40 sets. If you mistakenly send an extra set, I will keep it for additional charity quilts. This should not cause you any problems because of the extra yardage which is allowed. In the future, just send the number of sets stated in the e-mail and ignore this confusing explanation. Roll Eyes

Well, whatever I sent is yours. If there are extras, please add them to your stash.

I may not have been counting very well the other morning when I was packaging, so it could very be my faulty counting.

Also, does that little aqua box mean I didn't or didn't turn in a name for my quilt. I did with my first email to you, I think. My head hurts tonight, I am filling out paper work for my son for UK tonight,I am overwhelmed! I am over thinking everything.

Rondi and Jen (and anyone else wondering Smile), the aqua box that is coded for name those quilts is for the bonus squares contest that Jean ran that ended on Monday. Submitting the name of our quilt in advance is separate, but she'll have that tally on the bonus squares (and FQs) spreadsheet that she will send us once the squares have been swapped.

Hope this helps!

I better get mine ready to mail--they aren't doing it themselves.

I think that you're right, Angela. I didn't even notice the underline before. That would mean that only six people haven't named their quilts in advance. Jean is certainly thrilled with that aspect of it. It will be an interesting unveiling to see how the quilts go with the names this year. Hopefully my plan will work out Cool.

Ooh-ooh, I just had a brilliant idea! Wink See, sometimes they just sneak up on me. I did notice yesterday, that there were only six more quilts to be named. How about some BONUS SQUARES?

If everyone names their quilt by the 31st, EVERYONE will get another TWO pairs of BONUS SQUARES. Big Grin Big Grin

I know the answer to that one, Michele. Here's a copy and paste from Jean's e-mail to us:

Wash & Iron fabrics before cutting.
Please REMOVE all selvages before cutting squares.

Pair your squares up WRONG sides together
(this will help speed up sorting-Thank you)

TIP: After cutting your strips, pair up the two fabrics wrong sides together, then cut squares.

• • • J Lu, naming the quilts early is new this year. Your reward for naming your quilt before the 31st, allows you to use another FQ to make your quilt. I am offering an additional two pairs of BONUS SQUARES as an incentive to get the last few challengers to name theirs also.

♪ ♫ Now the nights are long and lonely and I ain't too strong Babe, I just can't go on... until they arrive. Wink

Just a reminder, all packages must be here next Friday. That means you should have them in the mail by Wednesday at the latest.
