Bonnie Hunter has become smitten with Modge Podge for old smelly machine cases...i.e. Singer 221...A lady in one of her classes has the solution and I like it....I'm gonna' talk to my best friend who is way more talented and creative with Modge Podge and see if she will do my smelly old case...

I saw this as well! I love the idea but I am not sure if I want to do that to my grandmothers sewing machine case - even though it is old, smelly, beat up and hidden in my basement. I spent a few night thinking about doing my sewing table, it is a 50's metal and laminate one. Very ugly but better than sewing on the floor!
Brandy...I would be hesitant to do my G.mothers too...mine has no such sentimental attachment,my machine & case was found in a pile of trash literally.

One of the blogs shows their new machine covered with paints and appliques with Modge Podge! That's making it too personal for me and too distracting.
BUT I was hoping you'd have something to help a stinky old husband! I've finally got mine going to the gym with me but when he takes off his shoes the cat runs for cover! I put them out in the cold garage to freeze them the other day. When my son did yard work all summer I'd rotate his working shoes into plastic bag in the garage freezer to kill the smells. I don't think Modge Podge work work. LOL
Evelyn, when my youngest daugther was pre-early teenaged she had a pair of Birkenstock style sandals that were really stinky every time she took them off, her tennis shoes weren't any better. We were traveling and she would take them off in the car--where were we to go? I sprayed them with Febreeze until they were wet, got in the car and drove. They never stunk again and didn't need a second treatment.

LOL I have heard of people that take old/odd socks,fill them with scented kitty litter and stuffing them in the shoes...
Reminds me of when my nephew and great nephew came to visit last summer...they brought the most awful odors with them...I could hardly change/ wash their bedding or walk by their bedroom doors without looking for "what died". Turns out the Mom/Spouse had these two on a garlic and who knows what regiment of vitamins/minerals etc. and it was oozing out their pores literally.It was so odd because they both reeked...This Auntie never keeps her mouth shut when she is looking for an answer from nephews.They quit taking the garbage immediately.Surely she had to of noticed the change in smell in her household...

When I purchased my Featherweight on ebay the folks who sold it were kind enough to place charcoal in a muslin bag to take away the musty smell. It worked pretty well.
