We are trying to make as many Christmas gifts as possible. Doing pillowcases for everyone in family, homemade hot chocolate mix, and cookies, dishcloths (knitted ones). Adults/couples..set of pillowcases, kids one each. Have lots ideas for girls.. Tea bag caddys, scarfs (lacy curled ones), purses, book holder are some for ladies. Most guys in our family don't read books very much. Soooo could anyone help with ideas for guys... Just quick small kind of gifts. Thank you in advance from the three of us, Tommitalk, greenspools, and myself.
I made a tv remote caddy for the arm of a sofa or chair for my DS & DS-in law and I am happy to say that they use them. They don't have look for the remote anymore.
Rice Bags are something they like too. It helps their sore muscles.
I will try to put on my thinking cap and let you know if it works.
How about some knitted or crocheted slippers. My DH ordered some from E-bay a few years ago & just loves them. Here's a couple of sites I found but there are many, many free patterns on the web.
I crocheted hats for all the guys one year. I also made my SIL a charging station that hung on the wall. It had clear pockets to hold cell phones, games, etc. I think there were three pockets with holes in the bottem to thread the cords thru. Not sure if I explained that well. If your interested I'll try to find the pattern.

I have 26 camouflage pillow cases to make for guys this year..young and older want them,do they hunt? Snapbags for fishing lures...someone on here makes them for her spouse...Coffee cozies maybe.

Knit/crochet neck scarves, or make them out of fleece. Living in Michigan I'm sure these would be well used. I pinned to my Pinterest page some directions for making a cell phone charger holder made out of an empty plastic shampoo/lotion bottle, looks really easy. I don't know how to show the directions here.
My husband loves the snappy bags, he uses them for all sorts of things, camera lenses, fishing lures, charger cords, phone, he carries handsanitizer and lens cleaners to and from work in his bag. I also made him a pillow with a log cabin design. What about a grilling apron? I want to make one of those for my sons who like grilling. I'll be looking here for more ideas. Good question Lionpride. i can tell you want i would like my husband to have/use. a fabric box. i will see if i can find a picture of one. To use to empty his pocket contents in! usually they are wood and sit on their dresser. for the life of me, i are cant remember what they called! (butler? or is that,what resembles a chair, thing they hang their clothes on)
Kim - Strut, I think they might be a valet chair or tray.
One year I embroidered fun grilling designs on grill aprons for my hubby and sons-in-law. Maybe good grilling mitts/hotpads, case for the grill tools (when they are cleaned) case to hold grill tools on the way to camping.

My sister made her DH a bunch of fishing pole 'cozies' Basically a long tube of fabric with a drawstring at the bottom. It covers the pole part and prevents the lines getting all tangled. Good to see you guys! Say hi to your mom and sister for me
The men in my family love edible gifts. A big carton of caramel corn with pecans is a hit for football time. My DH loves trail mix with hotter spices than I like. Jalapeño jelly is a favorite. Hot pepper crackers are hoarded. My son loves walnut raisin oatmeal cookies. None on the shelves are as good. With the youngsters I give totem iTunes cards. Even a $5 card is a hit. Do you remember the key holder that someone made for all of us in Branson? When I got back I showed Dh all my goodies and he pick it up right aways and said "nice belt loop for your keys". It can be made with manly colors or novelty tool fabric.
Also I still want to make our Boy Scout a quillow with the Boy Scout fabric. They are grert for adults too. They can be put in the car trunk for cold weather or even used as a kneeler when changing a tire.This message has been edited. Last edited by: Happy Erme,

My hubby asked me to make him a vest with lots of pockets so he could wear it when he was out with his camera and wouldn't need to carry the camera bag. Pocket for the lens cap, another one for the long lens, another for the short lens, etc.
I lucked out and he found one that does the job at Cabela's!!!! more pockets than he knows what to do with.

QW, You are right you got lucky. I might take that idea and check it out for my DH, he likes lenses and lots of camera equip when he goes for a shoot(when he is going out just for pictures) Cabelas has lots of things, but I wouldn't have thought of them for a photographer. Thanks for the idea. Pat
Pat, I think he found it in the fishing/hunting section. It even has pockets inside and there are pockets available for a g un. The one he found is a lighter weight, not a winter weight lined vest. Waterproof too.

But if you Google steering wheel patterns there are lots of them. Some are for the circular part only. The full cover is great for us in these hot sunny areas. Also good for golf carts. I used prequilted fabric and just added binding.
On Google they also had patterns for knit and crochet circular covers.

Thank you all for the help. Any more ideas welcome as will make list and keep it. Will have to sit down and go thru these more tommorow. Had to take son in to town half hour away to get some wallet size photo's. He never brings home photo stuff from school (senior now) and needed a couple pictures that size for a scholarship. Then when got home started to help make pillowcases, we counted need 38...we are halfway done. Good thing is we are using up some stash making them all.
Three years ago I grabbed some fleece and made 'hoodie scarves' for the males in my life. They were really just strips of fleece sewn into tubes and you pull them over the head. You can leave them on the head or pull them down around the neck. I was told they were great when out shoveling snow 'cuz you can pull them up over the face, also. For the DGSons I made them in fleece with their school mascot on them. These can not be simpler to make. A quick hem around the top and bottom of the tube and one seam.

I have made muffs for the hunters in my life. Don't laugh!! My husband asked me to make one so he could keep his hands warm without bulky gloves while awaiting for the big buck to come along. I thought he was joking. I made it with camo fleece, layers of the 10 oz batting with a canvas strap to carry over his shoulder. Several other hunters in the family have become proud owners of muffs too!!

LOVE love the idea of a hand muff for my DH. Hunting season starts next Saturday and his hands are always cold nowadays. I started working on some hand muffs from fleece and satin to give nursing home residents butnever thought of my own husband. Great idea! His birthday was yesterday and all I got him was some shirts. This will make him much happier. TFS
How about making some of these soda/beer can koozes? You could make them in "guy" fabric like camo or hunting scenes, or golf fabric...whatever the guy likes to do.
