Purplebutterfly, I think whatever stocking you make in whatever color/fabrics is fine - your choice. If you are like me, you like to be surprised as I'm sure a lot of the ladies will agree.

KC1930 - just as you signed up I had someone drop out so since I didn't want to mess up my numbering, I put you in slot #6 (the numbering doesn't mean anything)Just wanted to let you know I got your note about signing up.

Looks like we have quite a few new participants this year - yea! I'm going to keep sign ups open until October 15th. On the 16th I will write everyone's name down on paper and put the names in a basket and as I usually do - my sweet hubby will then draw names to match up.

For instance - the first name he pulls out will be match with me - Nicki Lee - I will then make that person her stocking. The second name he pulls out will be matched up with Sister Sue - she will make that person a stocking then McPatches and so forth down the list of names. I will do my best not to match up anyone with a person they have already had in past years.... I'm pretty sure I still have some of my lists. Please do not contact me asking to be matched up with a specific person.

Erma- I sincerely hope you will be able to join in again. I need to find my pics of prior stocking swaps. Heading to the cabin tomorrow in the cold rain to close up for the winter. No internet, no cell service, and the phone is probably out as usual. Ahhhh. I'll take some UFO's to do. Starting to think about what type of stocking to make this year.

I got my paper pattern prepared today. Hopefully tomorrow iron my muslin and draw the stocking onto the muslim and start pulling fabrics to choose from. Fabrics are still not in my new sewing studio.

We have a heat wave in Southern California starting tomorrow through Wednesday. Because of the low humidity the fire danger will be very high. My home is in the hills so we will be trying to stay cool and be on the lookout for smoke in the area.

I think that I've decided on my fabric and embellishments. Now to find time to make it. I'm glad that we're getting some newbies. I have to say that I have a rather nice collection of stockings that I'm building from this swap (this will be #4 for me). I always look forward to participating in this swap.

BTW, here's a pic of the one that I made last year.

I thought in the past there was a questionnaire. But I remember people included stuff like favorite color, themes/styles/things you like, if you like chocolate, things you don't use, etc. I am sure others will answer. This is such a fun activity. I am so excited to start shopping and sewing, just need to know who I have so I know their taste.

SDgranny, have you joined before?Don't quite recall. this is such a fun swap. I'll be at LQS thinking of what I want to put on my wish list. Sue and I are going to a demo/discussion on all the different feet for our sewing machines, We should learn something. There are lots of feet that I don't have a clue on how to use.

Thank You Shogun and Nicki for your replies regarding the wish list. I have starting working on one and will adjust it when the wish list thread is started.

I hope to get my stocking pieced today. Fabric has been picked out and cut into apporixamte size pieces. I need the head start because beading always takes longer than other embellishments.

This is going to be fun. I haven't done any swaps in a long time.

42 and Counting, If you are on the fence - jump in as Signups will close at Midnight tonight.

If you do not see your name on the list it is because you have yet to send me your info via PM or email - If I do not receive it you will not be Participating.

Also, if you would also like to "secretly" sponsor someone who is unable to sign up for the SSSS for one reason or another, please be sure to let me know.
**** A tip for the Wish List **** When answering the questions about a Gift Certificate it might be helpfull if you would post the Website (Link) address for you SSSS or SSBG. Remember, no names will be matched until everyone has completed their Wish List.

I could use a couple more angels please.

Ok ladies - I know ya'll are getting excited about who your SSSS is going to be but you'll have to hang in there just a bit longer. I've got all the names tags made and in a bowl so tonight while hubby and I are watching the debates I'll have him pull names.

As I have done in the past years I will go down the list of names in order that they are listed (above). As Rob pulls out a name from the bow,l that name will be matched with the person going down the list. I will be contacting each one of you individually over the next couple of days with the name of your partner and their address.

I will be giving Quiltingnewbie a partical list to match up so that I can be surprised too - she will be contacting those on her list.

Please, everyone - once you get your partners name please respond that it has been received.

Once you have your SSSS's name, PLEASE go over to the SSSS 2013 Wish List and copy and print out their Wish List. You have plenty of time to put together a stocking and fill it with goodies - remember PLEASE DO NOT go over the $25.00 limit and no less.... (this does not include the cost of making your stocking) You will have 7.5 weeks to get this done. Have fun and remember when you are putting your stocking together to make it like something you yourself would like to receive. Have fun!
