Finished quilting and now I try to sew on the binding ![]()
SewHappy, Your quilt turned out even better than I thought it would and I thought it would be Great. Anael, Yours is beautiful. Becky yours turned out lovely too. Handie I'm loving the fall colors in your quilt. I went to the LQS and bought another different fabric for my sashing, I'm thinking I need to stop trying to figure it all out (dithering as my MIL would have said) and start cutting and sewing. Pat
Wow Anael! Finished quilting? I am impressed! Looks like your quilt has been claimed. LOL Patty show us pics and we'll help you pick your fabric. Have a great day everyone!
Thanks Crazy, it's all finished now with binding sewn on but I can't take pictures as my kitty has claimed it again
I sewed on my border and maybe next week I can quilt it. It is a good size quilt and I enjoyed making it. ![]()

Beautiful quilts, Anael yours seem to already belong to a cute little fur baby. Finally made it to the sewing room last night finished the Dec. main block now to make the small blocks today. I still need to make July, August, and finish the small blocks for I believe March and May!!! Not going to make it by the 31st but maybe New Year's Day. Here's a pic of the finished quilt. Of course with kitty LOL. As I said before I didn't use borders, only binding. Oh, I'm going to call it 'It's My Christmas' ![]()

close up of the quilting. I used embroidery thread in a gold colour, did meandering with stars. You might spot one in the picture ![]()

STinMT and Anael, your quilts are just gorgeous! This confirms it...I am going to do Christm@s stash for my next BOM. Really ladies, these quilts are just great!

Thanks alexemmarose, and glad I could help with making your decision

Beautiful block CQW, and good luck on the rest of the blocks!
HI all, Love the blocks finished and the quilt tops. 20 lashes with a wet noodle for me. I haven't got the last 3 months done. Too much holidaze and running around. After I get caught up here I will be finishing up - better late than never - I hope. This has been a fun project and I loved the results. Mary
I don't have my small blocks done, and I wanted to get the top together before the end of the year. But I did get this last block done, maybe Tuesday I can avoid this becoming a UFO. Edited to add picThis message has been edited. Last edited by: DJBrown, ![]()

Wow these blocks and quilts all look GREAT! And a big THANK YOU to those Chicks for all their work putting this together. Deb
Absolutely beautiful!! I have about another hour on the missing small blocks from an earlier month and will then have 9 blocks completed...this will be going to DM to use in her "chair" where she spends most of her time during the day and it is very cool in there so the smaller size will be better for her...besides, at the rate I produce no one wants to wait until the missing three have been added
CQW and DJBrown, your blocks are really great! I am excited to see your completed quilt tops!
DJBrown, pretty block. I finished March and May yesterday but still have July and August to do. At the speed I'm sewing I'll have the top finished mid Jan. Seems to take me a lot of hours to make the small blocks. Everyone's blocks/quilts are looking great. My DS has been home since the 20th so I've been sewing while he's sleeping or off visiting, I want to spend as much time as I can with him. So I'm slowly getting the border made. I think it is going to look to good!!! I can't wait until it's done and can show it off. I need two people to hold it up so I really wanted to finish it before DS left but I don't know if I'll make it or not. Unless I get a lot of time to work on it today I'll not get it finished in this year. But it will not be a UFO for long in 2013, I really like it and am anxious to put it on the bed. Keep calm and carry on Life is good!!! Patty (KD0ICU) In God We Trust http://s77.photobucket.com/albums/j66/PattyannC/

House is somewhat clean in ready mode for a few friends over tonight to ring in the new year and then tomorrow...can hardly wait...am bringing my sewing machine in from my cold 3-season studio and plan to sew, sew, sew! I set it up in the dining room of my very tiny house for the winter. This BOM...November AND December will be my first projects!
I completed placing the sashing on my BOM quilt. Now I just need to add the border, backing and quilt it. I will post a pic of how it looks so far. Hope everone has a good New Year. See you on the 2013 BOM post in the AM. Sue ![]()

love all the photos - I'm meeting with my board members of my guild today and taking along my first 3 blocks that I stated last year to see if they might be interested in a BOM type project for the guild...? I'm the activities coordinator this year and was told that they are tired of doing block lottos every month... so we'll see. I have other ideas too. But mostly wanted to say that I think CBQ and Ivy did an outstanding job on this years BOM for the board and I'm looking forward to finishing mine this year - after my surgery during the summer, them moved to the new home, quilting got put on hold. But I'm ready to get back to it! Visit me at one of my blogs...and be sure and leave a comment so I'll know you stopped by quilting = www.bingobonnie.blogspot.com family = www.minorhappenings.blogspot.com

Patty - your quilt turned out very pretty! What a good feeling! Now you can start 2013!

Here is mine done with six of the big blocks. I added the borders and will use it for the Quilts of Valor projects. It is 65 x 84. I could not get a picture of the entire quilt but you can get the most of it. I have been waiting for DH to hold ir up for me, but he has been busy so I did not want to wait any longer to post. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Chlynn1129,

OOPS, I missed the corners. I did Friendship stars there.

Beautiful! I love the red, white and blues!
Everyone's quilts are so pretty. I love them all. I hadn't decided how I will finish mine (still have a couple of months to do since I started so late). I sure do like Chlynn's idea of using them for QOV so I might make two to donate for that.
Chlynn, your R-W-Bs turned out just great! What a good idea...end up with your QOV just about complete! I would like to thank Ivy Cottage who sent me a fun little package this week with my drawing prize for being a block finisher one month. Was really surprised! And I love the batik you sent! Thank you again!

Beautiful Chlynn! Six blocks look great together!

I like what you did with your blocks Chlynn... very pretty! I like all the quilts I've seen. Thinking ahead to next December/January and hoping I'll have a quilt to show from the 2013 BOM!

Almost there, finished August whole block, finished July main block, and cut the fabric for the small blocks. Hope to finish July during the week than put the top together next weekend. Wow! Go CQW!
Is there one list of blocks available? I didn't do this one but love all the examples. I might have to do it anyway. Great work -- love all the color combos.

Fabriks, a new thread was started each month with the directions for the main block and the mini blocks. The easiest way to find them would be to use the "find" tab at the top and search for 2012 HGTV BOM and add each month individually. Just to get you started, here are the first ones. http://boards.hgtv.com/eve/for...173982457#4173982457 http://boards.hgtv.com/eve/for...093925557#1093925557 http://boards.hgtv.com/eve/for...593946657#8593946657 You don't need to do them in any particular order. And you don't have to do them exactly as shown. I had a lot of leftover units (HSTs, flying geese, etc) from previous quilts that I used in place of some of the mini blocks. This message has been edited. Last edited by: pvillelou,

Thanks so much for your quick answer. I'll do some surfing and make notes about the blocks used. This looks like a great quilt. I'm not much for mystery quilts -- I want to know what they'll look like first. Kinda takes the mystery out of it...I may have to keep up on this year's BofM too. Good excuse to sew from stash. And make another UFO...

Hello my stitch friends! Some of you are participating in the 2013 and have already heard my little story about my 2012 BOM blocks but I am posting here too in case some of you haven't. I did not make the November and December blocks because the months got away from me and I also wasn't totally pleased with the remaining florals I had in my stash. I was not going to buy more fabric now when I am trying to use up stash! So, when I laid my finished blocks all out the September block just didn't go at all with the others so I pulled it and ended up with a lovely 9 blocks that will be my 2012 BOM quilt. I had to give myself permission to not complete the entire year of blocks...really had that as my goal. Once I did, the rest was easy! The September block was R-W-B and I ended up using it as the center medallion for the Quilt of Valor that I signed up for. Here is my pieced QOV with the September 2012 BOM as the center medallion. CBQ and Ivy, thanks for understanding! ![]()
Fantastic Alex!! I love what you did with that one lone block! And nine blocks for your other quilt will be a wonderful size. Thank YOU for joining us!!
Alex, when life hands you lemons make lemonade. What a nice quilt. No one said they all had to be used just as we made them. Your design is very nice. Doesn't it feel good to have something done??? I was looking for a backing for my 2012 quilt, but everything I have is too small. I'm trying to be frugal and use some of my stash so I might have a pieced back. We'll see. It is my weekly goal to finish by next week. ;0
Patty, I love pieced backs! I think they are interesting! I do make them that way usually because I am trying not to have to buy more fabric but then once they are all finished I think I like them better than a solid back anyway! Good luck! Would love to see a pix when you get finished.
Alex, Just beautiful!!!! What a wonderful use of that Sept. RWB block. Nine 2012 blocks will make a very nice quilt and if I recall the 2012 BOM did say "Make it Your Own"! So I guess you're not the "rule breaker" you thought you were :-) Great Work!! alexemmarose absolutely beautiful! What a wonderful submittal for QoV.
I finished putting together the 9 blocks I finished. I posted a pic on the thread asking for ideas for borders. This was a lot of fun even if I didn't get them all done. I only threw out one The plan is to decide what to do for the border - get it done and hopefully have it ready to give to Mom for Mother's Day. She's always cold now. Thank you for all the work you did putting this together. You rock!

Ladies, let me applaud every one of you for some magnificent work!!! All the blocks turned out just wonderful. www.floridafarmgirlsworld.blogspot.com Life isn't about how to survive the storm, but how to dance in the rain.

Finally finished my top- It is all from scraps except for 1/2 yd of rust and the beige I used in the border.CBQ gave me some of her scraps and she will quilt it later.
SDgranny, it looks wonderful!!! I can't wait to get my border finished. I haven't put it on a bed yet, I was surprised to see how big yours is. Keep calm and carry on Life is good!!! Patty (KD0ICU) In God We Trust http://s77.photobucket.com/albums/j66/PattyannC/
