Remember years ago when OwenJulesMom had the block lottery? Well, I won a bunch of bright mock log cabin blocks I forgot about. Here is a quilt I made from some of those blocks (not even half of them), and stash sashing and backing. Had to by a bright for the border, though. This one is going to JaneKiwi for Sandy relief along with another one I have on the quilt frame now.

We went to our hunting lease over thanksgiving. I brought along my Bernina and busted some stash! I made two more than this, but gave them to a gal who was also with us for Thanksgiving.
....wow .. look at all the pretties .. WQFC's bowls, and the coin purses and quilts .. I think did a little catch up too ... my charms & jelly roll is finally done.. and i did the fmqing so it's sort of RANDOM ...
I cannot change 'things', but I can change how I feel about them. Me.
/// and along the border where the 'pattern' is sort of smallish - I stitched in my initials so the fit was better ... the backing was trimmed and turned to the front for binding and machine dewn .. I'm really pleasedd ...it looks washed because it was - I used spray basting back when i put the thing together so thought i should probably get it oout!
I cannot change 'things', but I can change how I feel about them. Me.
I haven't been doing much this year, but I did make this for my DGD to give her boyfriend. All she wanted was "Bob Marley" colors - red, green, yellow and black. I went thru my scraps and started putting them together until I had uniform sizes and came up with this - all from stash!

"Bob Marley"? Wasn't he Ebenezer Scrooge's dead partner? I thought his colors were a washed out white, grey and black. Seems your colors are a tad different.
Marley sure won't get missed in the hereafter with this quilt. Good use of your stash fabrics!!!!
.... how does one have that many colors in their sstrings box? WOW ... that is one bright quilt and should keep the BF cheered and warm all winter ... was it fun to do?
I cannot change 'things', but I can change how I feel about them. Me.
.... another stashbuster ... just a little potato baker bag = don't know why it looks lopsided, I measured it after the pic - it's alright! Thank goodness ... it's going to my grandsons math tutor for her to give to one of friends!

paus, it was Jacob Marley that was Scrooge's partner. My DS, DDIL and 3 DGKS are in a community theater production of A Chr istmas Carol or I probably wouldn't have remembered the name.
Although it didn't use much stash, I've been making mug rugs for Chris tmas gifts. The four mugs came in a set but I'll be giving them individually. This message has been edited. Last edited by: pvillelou,
... very cool ... and filled mugs are so easy - and can be given to any guest or unexpected visitor ... unless they are definitely guy or gal colors ... but then I guess the wrapping paper would be the clue, huh? ....PS .. add a candy cane, who doesn't need a bit of sweet RIGHT NOWThis message has been edited. I love the mug rugs and the quilt is quite eye catching. Here's a quilt made from a swap of nine patches years ago. I remember that it was specified that the middle block be a dark blue and and the blocks on either side light but you were free to choose the colors and corner blocks. Its a disappearing nine patch and will either go to hurricane relief or a friend of my DH.

here's one of the 2 quilts I've made for weddings in December. The front

I have a quick finish! I've joined a group that makes quilts for children in the hospital. There is a separate group of quilts for the pediatric hospice. Quilts with clouds on them go there. I think this quilt will go to that group. It's all stash, except for the back!
I had some special help with this project. MountainLaurel's 94 year old mother did the beautiful hand embroidery on this quilt for me. I used all stash fabric except for the outside border. This message has been edited. Last edited by: quiltslots,
I made this table runner after seeing one at COF retreat and then again in the shop in Branson. Bought the pattern there and the ruler when I got home. Had it for sale at the bazaar, it didn't sell but MountainLaurel's sister in CA has bought it for a gift. It will be wending its way there tomorrow. Will be making more of this pattern soon. All the fabric from stash.
I made 6 small and 2 large e-reader covers for the bazaar. I sold one little one and one of the big ones is on my Kindle. Again, all from stash. This message has been edited. Last edited by: quiltslots,
My Mom keeps her hands busy when she sits and she loves to embroidery. Her back side is almost as neat as the front. And she makes it look so professional with even stitches. She is currently working on her own second set of quilt blocks now. She has done a lot of pillowcases and scarves. I am so thankful that she can still live alone, quilt, sew, embroidery and she volunteers at the senior center four days a week. She is an amazing women. Thanks for the comments. I will tell her.
Mountain Laurel, What a gorgeous quilt. All hand embroidered!! I'm jealous. I can't seem to get my hand stitching to look good then I give up. I had an Aunt who did a lot of embroidery and she always told me that the back should look as good as the front. Mine never made it. I just want to comment on all the wonderful, inspiring projects that are on this month. You all did a wonderful job. Now just how do you buy your fabric so that it can be matched up with something else in stash and look so good in the end???? I have lots of fabric, but often have a hard time matching and go out to buy stuff. Thanks to all for sharing your ideas and projects, I like looking at them Pat
I have two things I can show this month. I have had them in differnt stages of being completed. the first is a paper pieced table runner. and the other is a king size quilt I call Strawberry fields. This will go to my DD who loves strawberries.
