RULES FOR THE ONGOING MONTHLY FQ LOTTERY HOSTED BY KC1930:
*** Rules for the 2012 Lottery Session***
PLEASE TAKE A FEW MOMENTS TO CAREFULLY READ ALL THE RULES—IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, PLEASE PM ME.
****ARE YOU READY FOR THE ‘TWISTS’????****
** If you plan to play the 2012 FQ lottery, contact me via PM with your email address. I will in turn email you a questionnaire that you need to fill out before playing. This information will be used for the “twist.”
**Those of you who played in the 2011 FQ lottery already have a great advantage! For instance, if you played in the June 2011 FQ lottery and play in the June 2012 FQ lottery, you will get a bonus ticket in the drawing for the twist!
**If you send in at least one (1) FQ for each month (total of 12 FQ’s) and your package is postmarked by 12.31.11, you will get a bonus coupon for each month for the twist! Be aware that your 12 FQ’s must meet the guidelines of the theme in order to be allowed.
**If you send in an incorrect fabric(s) for the specific month’s theme, I will not substitute fabric from my own stash as I have previously done. I can, however, either return back to you at your expense or enter them into the December Stashbuster lottery. Remember, if you send me the 12 fabrics as listed above they must meet the theme standard or the bonus ticket offer will NOT apply. So, please be certain they meet the guidelines before shipping! Questions? Just ask!
**If you send in a total of six (6) FQ’s in any combination of the month’s themes for ALL 12 months you will have a HUGE bonus advantage for the year-end blowout prize!
**Okay, okay, so what is the FIRST twist???
Each month we will have a surprise gift drawing—it might be a gift card, a quilting book, fabrics, sewing notions or a pattern—but it will be quilting related (does chocolate count???). Trust me when I say it will be worth the trouble! Now for the real fun! In order for you to get your FQ’s to me early, this drawing will be held at different times of the month. On the first day of each month, Mom will pick a random date from a hat and all the players with FQ’s in house (in transit doesn’t count!) will have a ticket (and any bonus tickets you have earned) put into a hat and a winner drawn. So, if Mom picks out the 15th, the winner will be drawn after the mail is delivered on the 15th!) This is an added incentive for you to ship your FQ’s in early. So, if you snooze, you lose! Once the winner is drawn, their name will be posted on the boards along with a picture of their prize and mailed out to the winner at my expense. In December, we will have our annual large prize drawing for a $50 JA gift card and some other special events sprinkled throughout the year (still working on some details!).
**SECOND twist**-It wouldn’t be fair for me to play, but some of your fabrics are just too yummy for me to resist! So, if I can’t live without it, it will go into my stash and I will replace it with a different print. And you will WIN too! You’ll get an extra bonus slip for the twist AND an extra slip for the FQ lottery! Just remember I am a BIG lover of black and white and 30’s repros, hint, hint!
Note: If you win the monthly FQ lottery, you are still eligible for the “twist” drawing (and visa-versa). We will have three winners in November (see special notes in theme description for more information.) And yes, you can win all three! WOW!!!
Again, and I cannot stress this enough, please contact me with any questions. In order to make this a smoothly run and fun-filled lottery, please follow all the rules and be fair to others.
Lastly, if adding these “twists” do not get you excited to play and increase our participants, it will be my last year as hostess of this lottery. Remember, all these bonuses are coming out of my own pocket and I cannot fathom the costs if we cannot get more people to play. So, sign up your secret sister or quilting friend (and yes, you can enter a non-HGTV player as long as you are responsible the shipping of the FQ lottery winnings). So, ladies, get those engines running and start shopping!
However, do want to thank those of you who have sent me goodies for the twister prize drawer. I really do appreciate it and I know the winners do too!
Here are the basic rules for the FQ lottery fabrics, shipping information and themes:
Use only good quality 100% cotton FQs are acceptable. No thinsies or lightly woven fabrics, please. Any fabrics not meeting the standards for quality will be returned back to you. And remember, NO SOLIDS-NO FLANNELS-NO GLITTER -NO HOMESPUN!
**If you are sending in fabrics for a TOT (tone on tone) selection, this is described as a “tone of one shade of the same color on top of another.” That is, a tone of red on red, blue on blue, etc. This doesn’t mean any additional color or a print with an added color. If you question your fabric, please let me know before mailing it to me.
A Fat Quarter (FQ) is 18 inches by half the Width of Fabric (from selvage to selvage), but must not be less than 20 inches nor more than 23 inches. Please be sure not to send in a short piece! Thank you!
Each FQ entered that month must be a different fabric.
Please, we prefer UNWASHED fabric. If the fabric is already washed, please place a sticky or pinned note on it so that the winner will know its been washed.
**The Lottery will have two separate collections subjects each month—one themed fabric and one color of tone on tone fabrics (except for July). If you wish to enter only one, you can send from one to six (6) FQ's for that theme. If you want to send in for both themes, you can send in a total combination of up to six (6) FQ's from the two themes. There will be ONE winner per month for all the FQ’s received!
For each FQ sent, one slip of paper with your name will be put 'in the pot.' If you send six (6) FQ’s, you will have six (6) chances to win that month.
Send each month's FQ entries in one baggy with your name, address, and board name inside the baggie. You can send in more than one month's entries at a time. Just be sure to place each month’s FQ’s in separate bag and label it with the month and theme of the swap and quantity sent.
FQ’s must reach me before the last day of each featured month. In other words, December Lottery FQ’s must be in my hands by the last day of December.
Please notify me on this board or by PM or email when you mail your FQ’s so I can watch for them. I will acknowledge receipt of your FQ’s on this board and/or email.
Photos of the month's entries will be added to the album so everyone can see what's going to be in the drawing. The month's albums URL will be posted on the FQ Lottery thread each month. If you have any questions regarding a questionable fabric, contact me before mailing it out.
One name will be drawn the last day of each month. Winner will be announced later that day or on the following day, unless I am awaiting a delivery made late by the USPS. Under no circumstances will I wait longer than the 3rd of the following month. Save money and send in a group or all of your entries at once. You can then check off that project as “complete.”
**CHANGE** You do NOT have to play the minimum two months following a win.
Postage reimbursement plus confirmation cost by the winner will be expected by check or money order shortly after the winning fabric is received by the winner. You don't have to enter every month. If you like the fabrics that month, feel free to enter. If you don't, skip it!

*********************************** “May God give you...For every storm a rainbow, for every tear a smile, for every care a promise and a blessing in each trial. For every problem life sends, a faithful friend to share, for every sigh a sweet song and an answer for each prayer.”
Aliquilts already has her 12 months of FQ's in house! I did, however, notice that you are lacking that "special" ugly that is needed to compete with these ladies!
I will post the pictures in the photo album in the next week or so.
I thought I had found an ugly when I stumbled onto a fabric sale. As I was packing up my box though, I must have put it back down when I was looking at other beauties!
KC Haven't started it yet, but I think I have an idea. Really had to get Christmas underway before I start anything new. It is a fabric that is so out of my comfort zone I want to be sure before I make anything and make a mistake with it. You know I probably wouldn't be able to find more of this exquisite fabric in whole world.
I started pulling and bagging up - first 3 months are done....rest to be done tomorrow. Plan on sending out the box for the year on Tuesday. KC - I sent you an email with a couple of questions before I send it.....

In my defense I sent FQ's for the entire year plus some extra goodies since there was room in the box I think it was the goodies that jacked up the weight - even though...fabric DOES weight a lot
It wouldn't come near to being 1/4 of stash

Well, I spent the last few nights going thru things and I have 12 plastic bags with 6 fat quarters in each ready to be sent. Just need to find your address and they will be on their way this week. That's 72 fat quarters and the sad part is you can't even tell where they came from. Had to laugh when I looked at the pictures of the items already sent and you will be getting some of the same fabrics!!!!! However, I think that I have the ugliest November fabric so far... Chris

Now the "ugliest of the uglies" is now Hortense the bear and doesn't look quite so bad. So I say go for it. Nancy20 sure does find some questionable fabrics. So if she is joining for November it will surely win the ugliest contest. KC, look for my pkg coming with Feb. fqs, sent off today. If they don't meet requirements just keep them for your stash ok??
