Wow, I am so impressed with everyone's work this week. I've been working on a few journal covers & will start a baby quilt next week (hopefully).

I love seeing everyone's progress pictures! Thanks ever so much for sharing them!!!

The last time I got my sewing machine out was on the 5th when I took a quilt class at my local quilt shop. My father had hip replacement surgery this past Tuesday & while the surgery itself went well, he's had a number of problems since- as of now, they have no idea when he'll be released. I spent a good deal of last week at the hospital with him & his wife; I did take some quilting magazines with me in hopes of finding some inspiration.

Happy Stitching All!

It has been over a week sence I have touched a sewing machine. I cought a bad cold and spent last week in bed. bad cough and still have it, could not eat lost 5 pounds, Had a temp of over 100. And just to show my DH how much I love him I shared it with him. He is spending the week in bed. But he is not being a big baby about it.
I was showing my DIL some of the quilt tops that I have waiting for quilting, She had my GGD with her and as I was showing the tops my GGD said that she sure wished that she had one of the quilts So I gave her one before they left. Up until I gave her the quilt she was draging her feet about going. When I gave her the quilt she said Thank You before they could tell her to and than she looked up at her G pa and said "We can go now" and hugging her quilt went out the door. The rest of us stood their laughing. She is 5 will turn 6 in Sept.

HOLY SCHMOLY!!!!!!! What WONDERFUL projects shown!!! Big Grin

HandiAnn, hope you fell better asap!!!!

I sat down at my machine today and got out my bag of selvages...made this water bottle cover [my water bottle is stainless and didn't want it to get scratched]. My son said it's "Dorkie!" My hubby said "It's stupid!" What do you think?

[I wish it was about 1/2" taller but just eyeballed the fabric...should've measured it b4 starting--oh well!]

...easy to answer - they are wrong.

No sewing here...been slowly moving things to our other house the last month. Movers will be here Thursday to get the furniture. Will be renting this house. Am so ready to get back to a normal life!

Bozie, your fabric selection is always "right on" perfect!!

Penny, what a wonderful sweet thing you are doing.

Karen, wow, just beautiful!

Love the pillowcase!

Angela, hope you heal really fast. My sister had to go to a rehab center after her surgery because she lives alone and needed help getting to PT.

HandiAnn, so sorry you and DH are both sick. The same thing happened to me and DH a few years ago. I think we caught something on a cruise. It took us a month to start feeling better. Take care of yourself.

Evelyn, what a neat idea with the dresden plate to make it the way you like it!

Really great work. Always impressed with the work this group does.

I got sashing done on some Sunshine quilters blocks for a kids quilt. Got almost done pinning the sandwich and found that JoAnn's had cut the fabric wonky - so in one corner I was 2" short!!! Grr!!!.

Had a wisdom tooth taken out Monday, still icing / heating every 20 minutes - pretty inconvenient to try to sew.

Hockeymom- the x-block works with a specific ruler and will give you all different cuts according to the pattern you use. I used Mo's Basket. This was a quilting class I took and completed the project at home. Sue

That's so sweet! Scrapy is my favorite! A friend's daughter was infuriated when a quilter commented about her mother's scrappy quilt. Daughter had never heard the word before and mistook it for the shortened word without the leading letter! We had a good laugh over that one.
