Bozie, that is beautiful. I always seem to miss your little jewels on the AAQI site. Maybe one of these days!
I have been spring cleaning, for the first time in several years. What a mess! I did get my sewing room organized and ready to go. My DGD is on her way here to spend the weekend and sew cushion covers for a chair she bought for the nursery. I have a GA Bulldog quilt cut out and ready to start for this baby. I'll have to do a TN/ Auburn quilt for the other one. Should be fun!
Nothing I can show a picture of. I helped my tai chi instructor make curtains for her MIL kitchen door, put the binding on a charity quilt for a fellow guild member, had a couple of the girls over on Wednesday for a sit 'n sew.
Our program at guild meeting yesterday was on applique, specifically Hawaiian applique. Now, I'm drooling. I dragged out my HA patterns and the fabric I bought in Hawaii to see if I dare undertake it.
You did a good job on that flower on the 1600 quilt. You can do the HA. Just take your time! I'll help you this summer or next fall. I have a pineapple one that's nearly done. I'll put it in my stack.
• • • I'm still quilting the T-shirt quilt. Have the outlining done but there are a couple of small tucks and I am debating removing them. I already removed a huge one which took two hours to take out. I'm using a really plush fleece on the back and it likes to shift.
There is still quite a bit of fill to do, but hopefully it won't shift as much now that the stabilizing is complete.
Bozie, that one is going to bring in some big moola on the next auction. I saw the last auction where yours was in the lead at $165. Way to go!

Life without quilting is not an option! • • • • • MY Photos • • • • • • ENJOY!
Quiltinana2, the blocks are 1.5" nine-patches so the individual squares are each half an inch.
Jayardi, I hope you are right about the moola! (That last one went up quite a bit more before it was all over - ended up being the best earnings yet for one of my little quilts. I'm still smiling about that.)

Hi, Hope I'm in the right place. I just finished a quilt for by brother-in-laws wedding and wanted to share it. If I don't see another snowball corner for a while I will be very happy

Fleur55, The photo is so small on my small screen it looks like take-out containers stacked on top of fish aquariums. Are those fish in the snowballs? Isn't it fun to finish a project? I've got one on my sewing table I'm quilting and I'm tired of it. Same pattern done twice in two weeks. Whew! Evelyn
Fleur, that's a very pretty lantern quilt. Glad you found the right place to post.
Bozie, I really like that...I tend to be drawn to autumnal colors, and you do those stars so well! Another beauty...hope it brings in a lot for AAQI.
Holly, thanks for asking about me. It went well. My nurses & physical therapists said I did "AWESOME" and recommended discharge on Wednesday instead of Thursday. Apparently they don't do it often, 'cuz everyone seemed impressed. It sure does hurt, though. Thanks goodness for pain meds!
Great work ladies. I have just crocheted beads onto a pair of baby soxs and getting ready to do a seam in a shirt and a hem. A piece of material that is already smocked and you just fit it the person. Have had it a couple of years.

This is a beading project roll up made along the lines of the crayon roll ups we have seen around. I made a bunch of these for the beading group that meets our church. They were not made this week-but I will be making more this week for orders taken at a recent craft fair. Karen

I am on vacation at the beach and as always have my outdoor sewing room set up beside the camper. I sewed together four tops today. I will post the pictures. These were squares I had cut at some point in the past for projects and just put them together. I have my queen quilter and I need to practice on and will use these tops for practice and donate to Project Linus if they turn out okay.
#1 Fabrics are bugs and fishes and such.

#2 Just kid friendly prints with orange and black. This is a design I borrowed from someone here-who made it with 2 1/2 inch squares and a blue sashing between the squares if I am remembering right.

I didn't get much quilting done this week, but I wanted to show this flamingo that my friend knit for my granddaughter. She loves flamingos and was delighted by him.

This is sister Sue's X-Block quilt-- It think the pattern she used was called Mo's Basket. I don't know why the photo looks so hazy- We took it in my Great Room, It should have been ok.
Fleur55, Love the close-up of your lantern quilt. I have lots of Oriental fabrics and that would be a great way to show them off. Much better than take-out boxes! TFS Evelyn
ps Love the bright kids quilts and the flamingo is wonderful. My new holiday tree has flamingos. Wouldn't that be cute with a Santa hat?
I'm calling this a finished ufo, just because I bought the pattern a couple of years ago and didn't get to it. My d-i-l loves coffee, and I had her breakfast room in mind for it. Of course, after I'd started, she had the room painted. Hopefully it will fit in okay.
Thanks City Sandie. And I almost forgot this sewing tool caddy. Several will probably remember that Keep You In Stitches taught a pj party class on it a little over a year ago. I've enjoyed these, and since the class have made several as gifts. This message has been edited. Last edited by: elsie123,
Bozie, love the mini - always do. You never fail to come up with something that is perfect. Fleur, just beautiful.
I think that is the best pillowcase for a child I ever saw. Love it!
I've been working on a quilt for a friend's daughter who is graduating from highschool, next week. She was giving ger parents fits, five years ago, and they came out to visit us on the east coast (from Oklahoma) because they were trying to find her some mental health treatment for her - possibly residential. While she was there, we hit it off and I taught her a little quilting. She made five nine patch blocks that are 12.5 inches squared, unfinished. I always intended to do something with them but, frankly, just put them away and forgot about them.
I just saw her, last weekend, and she is doing fantastic - good level headed kid who is a credit to her parents. I dug up the nine patch blocks and am dolling them up to make a quilt for her to take off to college with her in the fall. This is the center block - it is huge - about 36 x 36. This quilt got away from me and is going to end up a lot bigger than I expected. It was just supposed to be a lap quilt.
What awesome work everyone. They're so colorful. Bienvenue Fleur. (Welcome). That is a pretty pattern. How would it look with 30's repros? Bozie, stunning as always.

Pennyquilts - that is a lovely gift and she is going to be just thrilled ... and honored at your remembering her this way. Your joy at working on it must be sewn right into it
I cannot change 'things', but I can change how I feel about them. Me.
Last month I took a class on a variety of log cabins and we made a square table centerpiece. But after getting it home I didn't like it on my oval table. So I added the Dresden fans to each end to change the shape. Now to get it quilted.
I've done nothing but piled stuff in my "studio." It looks like a catch-all room. Kinda been in a funk. So, Friday when DH asked what I had planned for the weekend I told him to clean my room. Guess who slept wrong last night? Woke with a "crick" running down my neck and left shoulder blade. Sigh. I did manage to - shudder - iron some of my clothes for work. When I finally sat down with the heating pad - THAT worked! Went over DMs this evening and sorted papers and photos with DB. Big sigh.
Anyway. I will get this done. Get the baby quilt for the new grandson quilted. And get back to hand-quilting a quilt that's been in the frame way too long already.
Took a class from a certified instructor Eileen Urbanek at the end of March to make this Judy Neimeyer quilt. I finished the top this week and just LOVE it! Now to figure out how to quilt it.
Wow! Karen, that's what I dream of making. It's gorgeous and you did an amazing job! So much more interesting than traditional piecework. TFS Can't wait to see it quilted. Evelyn
Karen you did a great job on this quilt. I know how difficult her patterns can be, because I am still working on the stepping stone pattern. We took a clase 2 years ago for 8 hours and I still need to finish it. LOL Sue

Spent 5 hours yesterday volunteer wrapping Mothers Day gifts to raise funds for our local "Save our Strays". They are the group I wrap gifts for at Christmas, but the store wanted us for Mothers day.
Finally mailed two boxes to Quilts With Love with the latest pillow cases (about 40) and quilt backs with matching cases. Made the last of those this past week... Chris

I enjoyed trying rick rack under the binding and yo-yo's for the wheels. I've never done that before so I learned new techniques. I like that the binding is stitched by machine to the front of the quilt. Makes it nice and sturdy for repeated washing.
