Welcome to the Sunshine Quilters - our website is http://webpages.charter.net/cmladronka/
Our mission is to bring sunshine into the life of our receivers.

Each member is asked to make a block for the assigned host each month. The host then assembles and donates quilts to the children's charity of their choice. Some help by making more than one block for a host or by sending other supplies to the host.

To join, post on this thread your intention to join and send an email to Char77. Rosy is the dear lady who came up with this wonderful project, we are very thankful to her for this unselfish endeavor. Please be sure to put "Sunshine Quilter" in the subject line of the email. Someone will send you directions and information.

Some of our members have just started quilting, while others have been at it for a while. We can use everyone's help. You can choose to host a month and donate to the charity of your choice as well as making blocks to send out to listed hosts.

Blocks are to be sent to the host members around the 1st of their month. If late, email the member with your intentions to send later. If you can't make a block that month, that's ok, sometimes life is too busy. Post here and perhaps someone can send extra blocks to the host that month.

The list of monthly hosts and their choice blocks (with links) is posted at the "Sunshine Quilter's website indicated above.

Thanks Elainetoo. It is good to hear that this will be continuing.

I was hoping to get some blocks done to finish up the year but life keeps getting in the way. I have a lot on the agenda for September but will get back to this in October. I hope it will be ok to send Sept. blocks out a little late.

Here are Nov blocks for KC. You still want the leftover triangles, correct? They will go in the mail later this week.

KC, I have been meaning to ask, (since I found the leftovers from the last set, do you want them sewn together or just the triangles? and, yes, I'll take blocks whenever you want to send them. I am in the process of moving so when ready just check with me to see which address to use Frown

No problem as I won't get to do much sewing from now til the end of October.

It's that time of the year that we all love - where we're taking advantage of the last wonderful days of the year for outdoor work and fun.

And thanks Terrimae

I still have blocks from earlier this year that I didn't get put into a quilt, so I'll be able to do a couple with the Sept submittals added.

Yes, you can throw them in an envelope to me now or save them for the next swap or whatever. I like to use them as leaders and enders!

Char, your overflowing package arrived today. So many fun colors! The kiddies will love them!

Ladies, I had a couple of spare moments last night so I cut out several of my October and November blocks (Louisana)and this block is beginning to be my favorite pattern for kid's quilts!

IF you plan on sending me blocks for BOTH months (I'm hostessing both months), you can send them together to save ** and please don't forget to throw in the excess triangles. They make super corner stones for the quilts!

Please also let me know when you mail them if they are for both months as I like to post here and would like to keep them seperate.

These blocks will go into quilts for "Running Strong for Native American Youth." The kids thank you in advance for your kindness! Smile

asimplelife, love to have more blocks! Just follow the directions on the link posted in Char's opening statement.

I'm trying to make at least ten quilts using the blocks from October and November.

I'll post pictures of my blocks once they are finished.

That's quite a goal! Hopefully your goal will inspire me and other Sunshine Quilters to make more blocks for you. I'll put this on my to-do list for the first week of October.

Elainetoo, I've been lax lately with this group - is it too late to send you a couple of blocks if I get them made next week?

You got that right! I have one block completed for you and a whole bunch of flying geese made for some more.

You requested the bonus triangles - would you like the HSTs trimmed to a specific size?

Here's one of the quilts I just made from the Sept blocks. Nice and bright.

This is the second one I made from the blocks, don't know where the first one was posted. Still have some blocks - at least for one and maybe enough for two.

Thanks for the blocks. These go to the local Caring Quilters which gives to several local organizations.

Oops - helps to add the photo.
